First, visually inspect all the components , than measre the Impedance on all coils/jumpers to see if there is short.

Ok. There is no short, or damage. Bios rewritten, cpu changed, cmos battery removed. The first thing was a shorted yellow cap on the 19v rail. I was so happy to find it........

3V/5V ok for 3 seconds, 19V allways ok.

Check power button board if it has one, I just had a toshiba c55-B that displayed same simptoms, on for 2-3 seconds, screen lit up, and then turned off. Possible liquid damage on board.

                        Laptop Question
                        Hello,
I'm working on a Lenovo T460 that has been having trouble charging as of late. Its worked well since I've owned it for a few years. When I went to use it the other day it was dead and wouldn't turn on (was sitting on an Anker 65W GaN charger). After some fiddling with the charger I got it to turn on and start charging, but seemed like the charger was not working as it should (took a few plug and unplug cycles to get it to start charging).

A day later it was dead again and wouldn't boot/charge no matter what I did. No lights or anything when...

ASUS X54H laptop thinks it's always charging even with charger unplugged
                        by flat-earther
The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will...

Lenovo Thinkpad P72 EP720 NM-B723 MB - Power disabled within 2 seconds after plugging the charger
                        by Mita99
                        Hi,

Try to repair a Thinkpad P72 EP720 NM-B723 MB with I7-8850H processor and N18E-Q1-KB-A1 (P3200) GPU with 6GB memory. Unfortunately there is noinfo what happened to the laptop. I got it disassembled with parts missing, like keyboard, battery.

Unfortunately I have no schematic available for me (requested in the sub porum) but got the boardview file.

Symptom: after connecting to the charger the power led light up for one-two second and switch off. After a couple secons the power led light up for half a second and switch off. No battery, no IO board, no...

                        lenovo legion 5 15-lmh05 nm-c911 charger problems
                        by totto210
Hi guys, well the summary is this:
the equipment arrived because it did not turn on (it had been the original 230w source the problem) then I feed with my regulated source and without wanting to invert the poles. the equipment turned on and turned off.
This damaged the charger and its mosfets both high and low switching.
It also damaged the input mosfet (pq102).
by chance i had another lenovo legion just like this one and i removed the components and tried to turn it on and it turned on but ....... it burned again the high and low mosfets and switch (pq104, pq105, pq103)....
