    HP 15-bw0xx Laptop Screen Garbled

    HP Laptop 15-bw0xx
    Bios version F.52
    System Board ID: 8330
    AMD A6-9220 Radeon R4, 5 Compute Cores 2C+3G
    CPU speed @ 2.5GHz turbo of 2.9GHz
    8GB ram @ 1866 MHz

This laptop has a garbled screen error sometimes at boot see picture below, I have plugged in an external HDMI monitor and when booting if the laptop screen goes bad so does the external monitor but if I unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in the external monitor shows fine but the laptop screen is still bad, also if I change the screen output setting with "fn key + F4" from being "duplicate" (same image to both monitors) to just the external monitor and then change it to just the laptop screen the laptop screen shows fine....so by switching the error goes away

I have run the following tests:

Memtest86 USB boot version with 4 passes = all good no errors
(CPU) Intel Burn Test w/ 10 passes = OK, passed
ran FurMark for about 10 minutes = OK no problems
Scanned HDD for bad clusters = none
    Updated Bios to F.52
in HWMonitor temps are about 50 C while Windows 10 loads and goes to 27 C at idle
I tested the output of the power adaptor to the laptop and it is as rated
I have tried disabling the TPM in the Bios and clearing it
I have restored the TPM to factory settings (enabled again)

This laptop has a clean install of Windows 10 and new thermal paste but it hasn't been used for about a year, when I looked up the CPU it was made/released in 2017 and said it can handle 90 C temps. Does this sound like a GPU or motherboard problem?

In my opinion, the video chip..a little hot air over the video chip with the blower, and you see what happens..this is just a test and with great care ...

I found this number in the Bios "system board CT number" is: PGNFEK21U88GT6
where do I find the part number if the one above is not it? Is it printed on the motherboard?

I cant really do a hot air test to the CPU/GPU because its a friends laptop.

Aorus 17G YD laptop, broken display, could not switch to external monitor
                by ArchangelGabriel
Hello guys! I need a little help, I have one laptop for repair, it is an Aorus 17G YD, gaming laptop. Broken display, some cable ripped form daughter board connector, case broken, battery discharged and probably locked, etc. After I did the most tedious job I ever did on soldering back the broken cables (shielded cable) , I measured resistance on CPU and GPU core, 3 and 5 v ps and any coils I find on the board, everything seems to be fine. After I plugged the charger I don't get the power led light on from the charger connection maybe because the battery is locked , but on power button I have

Asus G15 5980HX - 6800M - No Display on Laptop - HDMI/Display Port external monitor works fine. Fried Component.
                by amuse619
                Hello!
Looks like I fried something when my EDP cable got squeezed on the hinge. I replaced the cable but still no display. Laptop works fine with external monitor connected through HDMI and Display Port-USB C port. I took it apart and I see a burnt component. Can anyone help me identify what this component is? I tried to use schematics for another G15 but it does not match on the amount of pins and size. I attached pictures. The component has a label on it - (21A29)

                Lenovo Thinkpad E15 Gen 2 NM-D011 - No display ? External , yes!
                by Acnologia
Here is a pretty crazy one.

                Step 1.
Laptop was brought to me as dead not working. Removed everything , cleared everything.
                Step 2.

Some liquid damage close to the Type - C connector, and the connector even though it was cleaned wasn't charging the battery . Removed the Type-C port, and replaced it. Now the laptop turns on and charges battery. Shows external screen , not internal.
                Step 3.

Took out the screen and checked it to a secondary Gen 2 i have, screen works like a charm.
                Step 4.

Lets ,dive into the board. I see the edp cable on the...

AOC U34G3XM, new monitor, black screen with backlight on, possible shortcircuit during dissassembly
                by turmix
Hello, I'm working on a new deskmod pc project and have a problem with my monitor, an AOC U34G3XM, well, I may have bricked it.

The monitor was dismanteled and the separate parts parts integrated in the desk. the screen panel alone is on the upper part, and main board/video board + power board on the back of the desk (not enough place on the cover to fit it)
At first everything was working smoothly, then I decided to change the connexion between the video board and the screen for a longer one. Still working fine

During another reassembly, I made a mistake, and...

Lenovo Legion 5 15IMH05H No Display
                by Rolin
I have a Lenovo Legion 5 15IMH05H 81y6003yUS that someone asked me to help them with a failing SSD. I installed a new SSD, fresh Win11 installation, updates, etc. Very standard stuff and everything was completed. He said he'll pick it up in a few days so I shut it down and set it aside.

A few days later came and now it won't POST an image, keyboard lights up, fans spin then shuts itself off after about 40 seconds. I've already tried the typical draining capacitance and removed CMOS battery, etc. No display on an external HDMI monitor as well.. No idea what happened. Suspected a BIOS...
