    Dell Latitude E5580

I have 2 Dell Latitude E5580. 1 is working perfectly fine but the other one isn't booting. The power light comes on and after a while it goes off and wont turn on again until I unplug the power cord.

Now I was thinking that it must be BIOS issue, what is your thought about it? Should I get the BIOS from the working laptop and try to flash the other one with it?

Check resistors near BQ chip (charger IC). You will find it on the schematic board. Most Dell's are all alike.
If resistor goes bad the IC cannot boot up. In the schematic you will find power sequence. Its is important - the charger IC is one of the first in this sequence.

Also, keep in mind that charged-id pin rail can be broken too. Measure if you get any charger id at all (above 3 volts)

I am as far as getting a BIOS error indicator light.
3 3 BIOS recovery 1 Recovery image not found

Dell states that it's possible to recover from USB but I get a black screen only. Is it possible to reprogram the chip with a new BIOS? It has 2 chips

              Dell latitude 5580, motherboard cdp 80 la-e151p

3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"
              (from here https://www.dell.com/support/manuals...e7a&lang=en-us)

I try plugging charger while pressing ctrl+esc, machine turns on, nothing and after 20 seconds it gives 3 amber 3 white blinks again.

Dell Latitude 5400 Chromebook UEFI bios
              by jhanra
Hi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.

so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, 😅😅😅...

Dell Latitude E7270 - Requesting BIOS clean/corrupt? service tag CB00KC2
              by TripTop
              Hi

i have dell latitude E7270 with following symptoms:
              - takes long time to restart.
              - sometimes powers on and then off
              - sometimes while working it just dies,

From googling online bios clean could possible resolve this?

i was able to save bios and was going to try bios clean myself but get an below error when i drop it in ME analyzer.(unsure whether this sometimes occurs or could be due to bad/corrupt bios)

As ME analyzer gave me an error i just decided to write bios with a cleaned bios from E7270 bios post.
              I reinstall...

Dell 9010 MT BIOS Update Always Fails
              by mikeybass
Hi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...
