    Pm_a_hpc_s_mv_mb_v1 5v ic no output

    Dear all

i have the above m/b with 3.3/5v voltage regulator SN0608098 IC.
i have the 3.3v but not the 5v.
i have replaced ic but still no 5v output.
    on pin 17 VBST I HAVE 4.76v.
    on pin 16 LL1 and pin 15 DRVH1 I HAVE NOTHING.

    DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA!!!!!!!!!

    THANKS

If it's Foxconn SAFINA, than VALW channels has separate controls, look page 32 of schematics. While 3.3V run automatically, 5V need permission from EC. What is on pin 14?
How do you feed MB - can tell overall current consumption by MB at 19V when powered off?

First are you missing +V5A on PJ543 ? If so check pin 7 if you get LDO after pin 12 Voltage?& the 249K is good or not, check VBAT PJ14 and the Voltage on D1 PQ850?

by removing PAD PJ25 the resistance to GND is 1.1KΩ

          Pin 14 is EN1, reads 120mv.
MB is feed with bench power supplyat 2.5A
By removing the pad PJ25 i get resistance to GND 1.1KΩ

          Yes i am missing +V5A.
          Pin 7 has 4.75V. i checked on PR174.
          PJ14 has 18V

So, You have no permitiion from EC to start +5VALW. What the symptoms do you have now from board - any reaction to PRWSW?
There might be few reasons of EN1 missing - even wrong BIOS or dead SB820. Remove RTC battery and make thermotest fo it with hot air, 300C fo 30sec.

The resistance to GND with+PCE19 is 1.28KΩ.
On PJ25 the resistance to GND betwwen GND and + PCE19 is 1.28ΚΩ also
PJ25 and PJ 24 Pads are disolder.

PR170 measures 170.8 KΩ instead of 249k without removing cap.
                    should i remove cap!

the PCE18 cap is setting on a base. when i tried before to pull out cap
one leg was destroyed. i am afraid to remove it unless if i try to disorder from mb

Board indicates that there is NO short.do you suggest to remove RTC and heat SB820 to 300C for 30seconds!

at least it takes 1 minute instead of desoldering capacitors. Same capacitor should be placed back. Did you try to flash bios first?
Look at page 5 of schematics - setting of EN_1 for 5VALW - marked as the first event during platform initialisation, before - only SB and EC are working. Importnt is that AC_OK from charger must be apropriate.

i will try to find adaptor and flash bios and i will come back to you

You have to replace that cap Pce18 later, most Probably you didn’t apply heat correctly for the moment don’t replace PR170 you have to find out why EN1 Not getting Required, check if it’s not short to GND or preheat as Kropotkin Have point out
