    820-3662 missing S4 enable - stuck in S5 state

    Clean board, no liquid.

    It has green/orange light.

    PP3v3_S5 and PP5v_S5 are present.

    No S4 (or S3 or S0) rails are present.

    No shorts detected on any S4, S3, or S0 rails.

    Missing PM_SLP_S5_L and SMC_S4_WAKESRC_EN which are required to enable S4 rails.

    Trying to figure out why these two signals are missing...

    ppbus_g3h = 12.57
    PPVIN_S5_HS_COMPUTING_ISNS = 12.57
    PPVIN_S5_HS_OTHER3V3_ISNS = 12.57
    PPVIN_S5_HS_OTHER5V_ISNS = 12.57
    PP3V42_G3H = 3.44
    PPVRTC_G3H = 3.34
    PP5V_S5 = 5.04
    PP5V_S4 = 0v no short
    pp5v_s3 = 0v no short
    pp5v_s0 - 0v no short
    pp3v3_s5 = 3.34v
    pp3v3_s4 = 0v no short
    pp3v3_s3 = 0v no short
    pp3v3_s0 = 0v no short
    pp3v3_sus = 3.34
    PM_SYSRST_L = 0v
    PM_BATLOW_L = 0v
    PM_PWRBTN_L = 3.42
    PM_RSMRST_L = 3v
    PM_SLP_SUS_L = 3.4v
    SMC_ADAPTER_EN = 3.4v
    SMC_PM_G2_EN = 3.43v
    SMC_S4_WAKESRC_EN = 0v
    PM_SLP_S5_L = 0v
    PM_PCH_SYS_PWROK = 0v
    PM_PCH_PWROK = 0v
    PM_DSW_PWRGD = 3.43v
    PCH_DSWVRMEN = 3.23v

    EDIT: Are batteries required for this model to start? I hooked up battery since BATLOW was missing and now I get fan spin... No display and no chime though...

    PM_BATLOW_L = 0v → Means you are not using a good Magsafe2 85W.

              Im using magsafe 2 (cable only ) attached to a power supply...i have green and then amber led in my cable but BATLOW = 0v ... what it mean ? That need to debug the board with an original charger? And no pwer bench?

                    dear Piernov,
                    i work on mac's. Repair mb. Voltages and main section fault finding is not big issue. My heart pains when i get stuck when i cannot locate fault because i don't know step by step signal processing. Pls can i get this very important knowledge regarding signals , from first to last. Basically we know like first S5 then S4 then S3 then S0. In betwen there are many signals . Designer point of view. Please help and support me. Really nothing better than this knowledge. Thank and eagerly waiting for the reply.

                        This is hp 15s i5 11th Gen motherboard LA-K201P device is booting up fine and working normally as long as its connected to the charger. On my initial check I thought it was dead battery issue and externally charged each cell and then we have 9% battery percent but as soon as I unplugged the charger device turned off immediately then I checked the voltage motherboard was supplying to the battery and it was 0.2V then I followed the 19V supply from the charger and throughout the motherboard 19V supply was okay then at one particular mosfet (PQB13 image attached below) 19V goes in and comes out 0.2V...

                        MacBook Air A2337 - 820-02016 - Stuck at 5v - Varying current draw - Board had short
                        by duwane
                        Hi All.

                        I have an 820-02016 board (A2337 M1) that has come in for data recovery. Reported as liquid damage, but no visible evidence of any liquid damage.

                        Board was initially stuck at 5v, and current only spiking occasionally to around 400mA and cycling.

                        After initial troubleshooting, found that C7800 (which feeds the power rail PP5V_BSTLQ_VOUT_SPMU) was dead short to ground.

                        Replaced C7800 and short gone. Board still stuck at 5v. Current draw behaviour changed. It now spikes up for a second to around 100mA to 130mA, then drops down to...

                        GIGABYTE X299 AORUS ULTRA GAMING - SATA PORTS 4-7 NOT WORKING ???
                        by DynaxSC
                        Hi,

                        I have the above mentioned bord after repair, which was related to a lot of missing smd devices on the back of the board.
                        There were almost 20 devices missing, caps, resistors and some diodes/mosfets.
                        The board is generally working now, all PCIe ports are working, Windows installs normally.

                        However I have a problem with SATA ports 4-7 (the board has 8 SATA ports) - disks are not beeing recognized by the BIOS neither by Windows (which is usually normal in case BIOS does not recognize them).
                        The SATA 4-7 driver network is quite simple chipset<->buffers/drivers<->SATA...

                        by ugamazing
                        Board had no history of liquid; unsure of drop history, but no signs of damage of any kind worth noting.

                        Charger sitting at 5v/0a. PPBUS is at 1.9v-0.9v steady cycle (peaks, drains, loops). Confirmed CHGR_EN_MVR is missing, but DCIN was reaching ISL just fine, so replaced ISL--no change at all. Confirmed pp3v8_aon is also missing--and being unsure *exactly* which signal appears first (or if they are simultaneous), I inspected PMU/U8100 area and found no shorts, but also found PP3V8_AON_MPMU_ISNS_VIN missing (not shorted). Replaced U8100 just in case (have had them fail in weird ways),...
