    lenovo 330s-15ikb

hi, in this laptop i found a mosfet in short, the serigraphy name is J8 GUC, in the position mainboard Q8902, can anyone help me identify this mosfet?
    i can't find schematic.

    Search the schematic EG521 EG522 EZ511 EG721 NM-B451
    If it’s a MOSFET it’s either N or P channel

Could you provide more information on how you've tested that the mosfet is short.

Also what type of mosfet are we talking about as your post suggests there is little information available online however with a little extra info like what the mosfet is doing and what channel type it is you can likely make a substitution for something else that'll do the job.

removing the mosfet from the mainboard source and drain is in short, it is the second mosfet in series after dcin for power.
and I thought to change it with P0903BEA, because in some asus models they do the same job.

check the voltage on the 1st fet Gate with out the second Fet less than 10V its P channel above 22V its N channel

Thanks a lot, in this case the gate is 25v, which mosfet N equivalent do you recommend?

Any Fet with 30V N channel

For Badcaps Readers, Please note that I am hopefully going to present this same message to Lenovo to see if they have any insight to the matter as well and figured to share the entirety here for clarification. The System is out of warranty as it is but does have the option to have it extended.

Lenovo IdeaPad 330 laptop mosfet issue
                by ebyte64
                Good day everyone.

I have been scratching my head with a Lenovo laptop I got in today.

The laptop had no power and taking no amps from the power supply. Checking voltage showed 20v only on one side of the first mosfet. Took it off and replaced it and then same story. Took off second mosfet and then the first mosfet had the right voltages as well as 25v on gate is it should. Replacing the second mosfet the problem started again.

Even using a wire to bypass the second mosfet does the same interference with the first mosfet.

                Would anyone...

Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen2 Battery Mosfet Replacement
                by Grafnus
                Hey there,

first time posting here. I have been lurking a bit trying to find a solution but with little to no avail.

So I have a Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen2. When I got it (for free) it was turning on but not charging because the battery was unplugged. When I plug the battery in, the Laptop won't boot at all.

                Specs:
                • Type: Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen2 20YQ-001KGE
                • CPU, GPU, RAM work fine (not involved in the Problem)

So the first thought was to toss the battery and get a new one, as clearly the BMS is throwing errors or something.

                Now I noticed...

How do you test MOSFET in laptops ?
                by Jane
I tried to use this method:

                Testing an N-channel MOSFET:

Step 1: Discharge the Gate (turn off the MOSFET)
Place the black probe (COM) on the Source (S) and the red probe on the Drain (D). The multimeter should show no continuity (high resistance or "OL" – open line).
Then, touch the black probe to the Source (S) and the red probe to the Gate (G). This discharges any stored charge in the Gate, turning the MOSFET off.

Step 2: Charge the Gate (turn on the MOSFET)
Now, place the red probe on the Gate (G) and the black probe on the
