I remain of my opinion that the replacement of the EC should at least be attempted. I do not believe that a reprogramming can solve the problem but it is still the first attempt to be made.

Do i need to replace exact same new IC or can place one of some other board with +- same information on the IC?
Ok i see :s how do you program those kind of IC (what's the tool, program)?
You'd need an external programmer for this.. It would be better to get a new board if you don't have a programmer for those chips.. New (used) board would be the cheaper option unfortunately...
But confirm the connector first. It would be odd if only one pin of the EC dies.
