OCZ Vertex 3 SSD with Bricked Firmware

Good day folks. Pretty pointless weekend project overall here: a workmate gave me a junk 120GB OCZ SSD he had at home which no longer works. After a bit of digging, I learned these were notorious for firmware bugs and would die often and I reckon this one is no exception. I found a few resources about how to resurrect them, just for fun, but unfortunately they're all for the Vertex 2, whereas mine is a Vertex 3 for which I cannot find a damn thing...
THIS here is a good resource and gets pretty close to what I'm trying to achieve, but again: everything provided is for the Vertex 2...I decided to press on anyway, to the point where I made that bootable MTP USB flash drive and am able to boot into it, the SSD with its "service jumper" shorted got detected, but that's as far as I could make it because the firmware doesn't match, which should come as no surprise, since the controllers are different: the V.2 uses a SF1222, whereas the V3 has a SF2281.

On top of that, it uses some bullshit proprietary NANDs which of course nobody's heard of, though I was able to find a russian article here who got even closer, since he also got the controller right and I was ready to go for it again, but then found my NANDs are different ! It involves a MASSIVE amount of work, getting Fedora going, installing sh!t and working with command prompts and going through all sorts of lists and IDs and stuff....DAMN! I didn't push on with this second guy only to find my NANDs don't match, so I stopped for now...

I doubt there's anything we can do with this thing in its current state: no firmware and no resources = unless someone comes up with a brainy idea....again, it's just for fun, there's no data on it, it's an old nasty thing....no hard feelings in the long run

Not a lot of progress here...

I still pushed on with the second article, with the ultimate goal of attempting to force the reflash by choosing the closest specifications to my NANDs as possible, despite the chips not being anywhere on that list. I had to throw in the towel though because the firmware file I managed to obtain simply wouldn't open in that SF Manager utility - it had the wrong extension for some reason and I could not find a .dfp package the software expects...all chinese sites required me to log in, which is not something I'm willing to do for this thing, since it's overstayed its welcome for sure, plus I'm not sure it's possible to force a controller to use a different type of flash NANDs than the ones it's got on board, despite their count and size being the same.....there's just too many variables and unknowns here.....

This thing is pretty expensive. More than an average notebook.

Anyway. I got this job over facebook market place. Customer said he bought it used and it was working fine, then he decided to upgrade firmware and somewhere along the way the battery died or whatever we don't know, it got bricked. That's his story and he's sticking with it.

If we connect power supply to it, we are getting 21 milliamps and nothing is happening. Pressing buttons does nothing....

      Thinkpad Docker G2 Type-C 40AS - Firmware Unknown
      by TheUser
      Hello to everyone ,

This is my first post here, and i would like to share with you a small story in case you can help me.

Docker Type-C Gen 2 - Model 40AS. Was given to me by a friend for free ,but with the problem that you cannot use the video output ports.

All ports work , USB , Ethernet, Type C ... but HDMI + Display Port don't work

I searched on reddit and google for problem similar to that, and a LOT of people had fixed this problem by updating the firmware. So i tried , i searched and found 1.1.13 utility and 1.1.20 utility that can help...

      Ubiquiti firmware help. US-8-150W POE
      by gurj1979
      Hi guys.

I've got a Ubiquiti US-8-150W POE switch which has issues with updating the firmware.
Turned out to be a bad EEPROM chip. It would read the firmware and work as normal, but failed to write new firmware to it.

So I took off the chip and read on EEPROM and saved it. Wrote to old chip and failed to write
Got New chip and writes good.

      THE PROBLEM...
It fails to fully load the firmware, POE lights fail to work during g firmware test during load. I'm suspecting bad EEPROM Read.

Does anyone have a Good Firmware I can have?...

      Hi,

The original fault was set not loading completely and reboots. I have downloaded a firmware on usb, tried the upload but midway says incorrect spftware and shuts down. I have blank raster now.
Anyone has experience on this mainboard?

In the download there are other apart from CtvUpgrade.bin

p65 c1 bricked during auto firmware update (need rom)
      by mallard729
      Hey all
So my rock solid p65 (lol) got stuck with a auto firmware update stuck at 20% for a few hours, finally had to hold down power button, tv is now in the logo reboot loop, cycles about every 25 seconds. the buttons on the back of the tv do not seem to function, i tried loading firmware with no luck... nothing is recognized.
in my course of research i think that the eeprom u202 got corrupt during the failed update, i have reached out to vizio, but not hopeful as tv is long out of warranty. Wonder if vizio would at least send me the .bin file for the u202 chip
      I have been...
