Sounds like a heat issue to me.
Or maybe a bad solder connection somewhere. Try to flex the laptop in all directions a little bit while on.

very difficult to say what is the fault in such scenario as symptoms are not constant. as@kvntm has said may be bad solder joint, corrosion somewhere on the board. Can be 'coz of bios also, so do flash a tested bios. In some cases it is caused by a bad sio chip as well.

            Thanks for your valuable inputs
Can BIOS cause such issue? I thought it is only responsible for the startup ..

Last time I had this problem with HP, I reprogrammed BIOS, which did not help and then removed battery, which did help. Maybe it was somehow the combination of these two actions.

Did not test much, usually in a few minutes.

Re: Random Shutdown - HP laptop

If it was a bios issue it won't shut down randomly or after hours. Someone on this forum pointed out that intel cpus will shut off if the me region is incorrect/corrupted but that will happen after 30 minutes.

Just give the laptop a few flexes or shake it a little. This problem is very hard to pinpoint. I'll bet for a bad solder connection that fails due to heat expansion.

Mb marking?? It has to do with thermal protection of SIO.

Review the voltage readings to ground from the thermal sensor.

What is the voltage to ground for PM_THRM# pin ? If this voltage is LOW, then this sensor is alerting the logic board that the temp is too high so shut it down.

Meter in DC volts mode -> red probe to PM_THRM#. Black probe to ground.

                            To all the members here...

Let me tell you a little bit about what happened to my laptop (MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX model: MS-16R6) that “maybe” you know how to solve this problem.

So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But...
