Hello, this chip is overheating when the power button is pressed. I do not have the schematic. It has a stylized H with letters A03 then FKH0072 underneath.

Re: help identifying chip off LA-E801P
You must clean the surface of the chip so you can read the sculpture clearly.
Rub the surface of the chip with the help of thermal grease or cigarette ash, it will help read the mark.
It is very important to determine whether the mark shows the type of P-Channel / N-Channel or Dual-Channels mosfet.
the picture looks like a product of Excelliance MOS

Re: help identifying chip off LA-E801P
Found this one that is similar, listed as 30V Dual Asymmetric N-Channel MOSFET AON6994. It has Id of 50A and 82A in datasheet but listed as 19A and 26A. Original has Id of 15A on both. Is it Ok to use it? Is more amperage better or worse, please advice.Attached FilesComment

chip displays 0.4 ohms in both directions when checking from D1 to S1, 42Kohms from D2(neg probe) to S2(pos probe) and 0L from S2(neg probe) to D2(pos probe) also there is 0.4 ohms between D1 and D2
Laptop went up to over 2 amps when pushing power button, had to disconnect right away, I burned my thumb when pressing chip. After it was removed, laptop goes to just over 500 mA, but fan wont start. It didn't start before removal either.Comment

by acedogblastThis is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.
There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as... -

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.
I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6... -
by Loki_FidoHi ya folks,
I have this MacBook Pro A2485 (M1 Pro 2021) which came in for repair.
It had a shorted SSD power supply chip. Therefore it was stuck at 5V.
I replaced it and the SSD are fine. No more shorts.
But The mac still pulls 5V and 200mA. If i leave it alone for 5 mins, the mac manages to receive 20V and 40mA. Of course, which doesnt mean the mac starts after power meter reading 20V.
But while the mac is stuck at 5V, i checked the board with thermal and found this chip was trying to start. Chip picture is attached.

by trepachkaThis chip is shorted thru. Based on what I see, it's either a 3.3V or 5V buck converter, just my guess. The markings on the chip state "S2=AB".
A photo of the chip is attached.
