    HP Pavillion 15-p035nd no power

    Hello guys.

I am trying to repair a HP Pavillion 15-p035nd, which has no power. I have a 19v rail, but no 3.3, or 5 volt.

In the picture you see me point at a component, where 19 volts goes in left, and 0.0v on the right. Also, on the mosfet above, input is 19v but no output. Output is also shorted to ground.

Does anyone have an idea to fix this?

    Greetings,
    Gerben.

That’s a capacitor one side is ground other side you get power check your power button if it’s having 3.3V

Post the motherboard part number,it might be next to the memory slots and will be something similar to DAY23AMB6C0

Re: HP Pavillion 15-p035nd no power

        Hello guys,

The motherboard now does not get any power, it seems to not be able to recognize the charger correctly, it bounces between 0.45v and 0.59v. The charger also makes a high squeaking noise. Charger works correctly on another laptop.

The board did not make any 3.3v or 5.5v, so was unable to test that.

Around the memory slots was this:
        tpt MV-0 20 94V-0
        PEMLB028J7LPW
        766473-501
        DC14A0
        Model: Y11A

In the post#1 you have said +19V +5/3V but now no voltage where did you test in MB , your +19V is short to GND

No, I said i did have 19v, but no 5 or 3 volt.

Edit: I desoldered a diode, after the 19v short to ground appeared, to no avail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ki708kDH81s

There is a burnt mark on this MOSFET it's 30V N or P Channel Fet

Just next to the Fet if it is mark as PQ20 as for the Schematic it’s N-channel 30V

So i replaced the mosfet. I do have 19v again now, but still have the same problem. Left pin 0 volt. Right pin should be ground right?

Do you have any other idea about what it can be?

The best thing to do is remove the B+ resistor and check which side is shorted to gnd and then apply 1V on the shorted side and see if anything heats up. Post measurement in resistance mode on all coils.

you replace a N-Channel fet SOURCE DRAIN GATE no Ground pins go through Youtube/Googel ect how the Fets work without basic knowledge you will do more damage to the MB , upload a pic of MB how you replace fet Q20 , put the multimeter in DIODE mode and test GATE & SOURCE

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

JBL Soundbar 2.1 Deep Bass PSU No DC Power Output (Detailed, w/ Schematics)
                                  by _AcE_
I have two of these soundbars, both with the exact same issue. The soundbars were hit by lightning and no longer power on. The PSU does not output any voltage on the DC side. When plugged into mains, the DC output is a stone-cold 0.0 volts. The AC side of the PSU seems to be functioning correctly (as far as I can tell). When checking the plugged-in PSU with my thermal camera, the OB5269CP PWM controller (U1) and the two resistors (R12 and R13) pulse on and off. These run to the positive DC side of the bridge rectifier (among other components along the way).

                                  There's no physical damage...

I have taken out the motherboard of a Acer TravelMate P214. There is a short to ground on the main power rail (19V). I don't have the schematics or boardview for this board (DAZ8IMB1AA0 REVA). But I have found 4 MOSFETS close to the main power rail : 2 N-Channel and 2 P-Channel.

I have checked resistance across each of the 4 MOSFETS. I have the following readings:
