by doejohn11Hello guys. I have a legion 5 17ach6h with Ryzen 7 5600h and RTX3060.
It was working perfectly fine but the cpu was overheating so i decided to replace thermal paste. I bought one from local hardware store and replcaed. it looked fine then the fan started to spin at the full speed after about 1 minute and then immediately shut off after 10 seconds. Then I though if i have done something wrong, so i cleaned up everything with IPA and put new thermal paste. but the issue was still there. After that, I came across this article where he had similar issue and he was able to solve it by replacing... -
by BabbarMy fathers belt sander from the 80s which i very much would like to continue using has an issue with the speed control. The machine works fine on maximum speed but will not turn or give any sign of life when on any other setting. The speed control is a dial going from 1-6 although implemented as a potentiometer without distinct steps. I took the machine apart and measured each component individually, all components and measurements have been captioned in the attached pictures. The Triac did not get identified correctly using my cheapo component tester, i don't know if this is user error, if the...

by eccerr0rAnyone run memory speed tests with an old X58-based triple channel 1st gen or any other >2 channel board? The one I have is a Gigabyte I think.
Anyway I had four 4GB DDR3-1333 modules in the 6 memory slots and got around 11GB/sec memory speeds assuming that it went dual channel since it didn't have enough modules for triple channel. Now I stuck in two more 4GB modules, but they are DDR3-1600. I'm still getting 11GB/sec speeds according to memtest86...
Just wondering, anyone do memory speed analysis on these triple (and higher) channel memory boards? Are there any...-

by chaos-theoryI have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and... -
by japlyticI noted that a number of consumer entertainment devices have the maximum speed marked on the wired network port and considering that there are broadband plans faster than 100 Mbit, the wired network port can be a bottleneck since some routers do not have Gigabit (only 100 Mbit) support for the WAN port let alone the wired network ports.
One other thing: Certain low cost network cables only have two pairs which limits speed to 100 Mbit.-
