This was sent in with liquid damage. I have 5v on the LCD detection filter, 5v in to the backlight driver, BKLT enable present, continuity along all these backlight traces, the voltage divider for the first transistor isn't being shorted by the driver. If I manually short it, I get 12V on the backlight because driver is still not telling the second transistor to switch power on the coil. I am stumped. LCD is definitely the right year, done NVRAM reset everytime and I see flashing folder with a flashlight. Replaced driver multiple times including at the same time as the mosfets. Using new drivers everytime from the same batch so I tried a donor board no change. I2C lines to the connector are good now, had to replace the connector but diode mode looks good now. TIA!

Current sensing resistor R7700 and traces to LED driver? VDDA and VDDP of the LED driver?
Feedback? I2C on the LED driver ok too?OpenBoardView — https://github.com/OpenBoardView/OpenBoardView -
Re: 00163 No Backlight
R7700 is good, continuity is there to the driver for current sensing. 5V on VDDA and VDDD of the driver. Feedback is good, I2C lines are good. If I manually short R7702 I get 12V on the otherside of Q7706, but it still isn't getting switched/boosted. Driver has everything it needs but isn't doing it's job.Comment

Yea just took another long hard look at my soldering. Also confirmed external video is working over thunderbolt.Comment

And SMC_LID high?OpenBoardView — https://github.com/OpenBoardView/OpenBoardViewComment

Re: 00163 No Backlight
Yes. SMC lid 3.4V lid works as intended when I boot up the board in the case with external (thunderbolt) display attached.Comment

Re: 00163 No Backlight
Tried another display assembly?
I'm out of ideas. If everything external to the LED driver is ok then it should be the LED driver itself that's causing the issue.OpenBoardView — https://github.com/OpenBoardView/OpenBoardViewComment

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... -
by triplefourthis tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even... -
by totofGood morning.
I have a problem with my LG Smart 43UF640V TV. It starts, the backlight comes on but nothing is displayed on the screen and there is no sound.
I thought it was a TCon problem and ran various tests. If I disconnect one or the other of the cables from the tcon to the panel then the screen is white on the side where the cable is disconnected and black on the other side. If the two cables are disconnected the screen is completely black.
In the 4 configurations I measure exactly the same voltages on the tcon card (model V15 43UHD TM120 Ver0.4) :

by osrexHello, this is my first post and im just a beginner, so be easy on me guy. thanks
i have a LED chandeilier that switches colors from white to cool white to warm when toggling the switch, it has 24 LED arms, each arm is 30 CM length.
i have no datasheet at all for the LED lights, all i have is its length.
long story short, testing the chandelier on the ground, and it works fine for 1 - 2 - 6 hours, no problem.
as soon as i fix the chandelier to the ceiling and bury the driver inside the hub,... - Loading...
