Re: Macbook pro a1286 touchpad and keyboard not working
Are you able to plug a keyboard and mouse into a usb port and have it work? If so, do you see your keyboard/keypad listed under About This Mac -> More Info... -> System Report... ? It should be listed under USB .Last edited by Retro-Hipster; 05-22-2019, 11:57 AM.

by B2L_RepairsHi guys i am new to macbook repairs (i mostly do microsoldering on iphones and android devices. I need your assistance with macbook a1706 (touchbar edition) that came in without touchpad and keyboard functionality. External keyboard and mouse does work but the keyboard and touchpad on the macbook does not work. I changed the touchpad flex, also replaced the touchpad but the issue persisted. I then measured voltage on the board and found that PIN 44-50 of the touchpad connector (J4501) got 11.2V instead of 12.6V. Those pins required 12.6v and they get their 12.6v from PPVIN_S4-TPAD_FUSE . I measure...

by User555111Currently Im trying to get this A2338 13" 2022 MacBook Pro M2 to function properly, Right now the trackpad and keyboard are not working but the power button and keyboard backlight are working. the Touch Bar shows display but does not respond to touch. I bought it on eBay and it was described as having a bad lcd. When I received it however I found that it was also missing the wifi and bluetooth antenna along with most of the screws hardware. it was also showing picture on the LCD but no backlight, I could also see some lines on the screen indicating the lcd was also somewhat damaged. on top...

by Vliegenier04Hi! This Mac has been an headscratcher for me, I can't seem to figure out the issue. The Macbook has gotten water damage to the front of the keyboard connector and battery connector. The keyboard connector was dead, by which I mean it was completely corroded and I have replaced it with a brand new one.
I have verified all the pins are connected to the main board and the main voltages (PP1V8_AONSW_KBD_ISNS and PP3V3_AON_KBD_CONN) are both present, with and without keyboard attached.
Unfortunately, the keyboard does NOT want to work, caps lock LED not functioning as well as any...06-16-2025, 12:03 PM -
by biosdiHi guys.
I Just replaced battery on my MacBook Pro A1989. Unfortunately doing that, I’ve broken the trackpad flex cable (821-01701-a), and I’ve already ordered a spare one. At the same moment I’ve noticed that also the keyboard it’s not working anymore and I’ve found an SMD chip unsoldered and moving freely inside the backplate. I can read L20L on the chip. Is something could explain the keyboard not working or the keyboard doesn’t work due the unconnected trackpad?
thanks...04-17-2025, 09:42 AM -
by FeatureaHi,
I bought macbook air 2019 1932 after water damage and managed to turn it on, but keyboard is not working. After plugging it in, it is starting automatically, start button not working. Unfortunatelly there is an Apple account with password, seller told me that he don't know the password so I need to erase whole hard disk, which is not so bad, but the problem is I have to go to OS recovery, but I can't without working keyboard. I tried to do this by DELL hub and connected keyboard, but it is connecting too late to react. So I have two questions:
1. It this normal that... - Loading...
