Asus Q304UA Not Charging Battery - Remains at 0%

    Asus Q304UA
    Symptoms:
Battery does not charge despite Windows showing battery charging. The battery does not charge above 0%. I replaced the battery to find that the laptop slowly discharged the new battery even though it was plugged in and displayed as charging in Windows.

I found a mosfet A5 GNA at the battery connector which reads 19V on top side and 800mv at the gate and battery connector side (see picture with red drawing). Is this normal?

Test the Coil and the 2 Mosfets 2 caps impedance with multimeter those might be connected to your battery connector
After test the coil 2 fets 2 caps and the battery connector all pins with battery in for Voltage 1 or 2 pins battery connector is GND , might be battery is completely dead or you have to check SIO battery pressent, I don't have the Schematic or the boardview

Here is my amateur schematic of that section. When A/C is plugged in, all three mosfets close and but two have 800mV on its gate and source and one has 800mV at drain and 0V on gate and source goes to ground. Will post again soon

        Inducter tested good.

        3 Caps tested as:
        Capacitance: 11.76 μF | ESR: .448 mΩ

        2 E4 mosfets tested as:
        Capacitance: 980 pF | Vt: 1.8 V

        1 A5 mosfet tested as:
        Capacitance: 2.43 nF | Vt: 2.1 V

I hope my readings at the points where components were removed may give a better clue as to whats the issue

It seems your battery is either dead or completely discharges as 730mv reading is coming from battery output. Since you have tried a new battery and it was discharging actually so some fet is leaky and/or charger ic is likely to be defective. caps connected to battery output line should be fine since you got backup from new battery. Better to test those fet in diode mode and see if it shows shorting or near short reading between source and gate pins.

The 730mV is there when the battery is disconnected. Trying to find schematics for this board so I can get a better idea

ASUS X571 no power : battery issue?
              by mkdj
              Hello everyone,

              Mark and model: ASUS X571
Symptoms: not turning on. There is only the LED battery indicator working. The owner of the laptop told me this problem arrived one week after having changed the battery. He then managed to power on the laptop only once, and then it never powered on again.

              Tests already made:
              - Battery is charging when laptop is plugged in. The LED battery indicator turns white after a couple of hours of charge, indicating that battery is fully charged. However, laptop won't turn on anyway, with or without AC plug.
              - I have removed...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
              by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 won't run on battery after motherboard replacement
              by dhenion
I'm working on my sister's laptop: Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 - The motherboard died so I replaced it.

              The original board was:
              ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 A

              The replacement board is:
              ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 B (identical except B vs A - I couldn't find an A board anywhere. Visually they are identical.)

It boots right up on the replaced motherboard and everything works fine on the new motherboard - but it won't run off battery. When I disconnect the charger it immediately dies. When I plug it back in and reboot the system - it still shows the battery at...

Asus TUF won’t run off battery
              by rob777
I have an Asus TUF machine that doesn't run off battery. Runs off charger ok, shows orange battery charging light and shows battery is at 96%. Battery voltage is less than 0.5v though. It had a short on the 20v rail from a dead cap. Pic attached. Removed cap and replaced a dc in mosfet. Machine now powers and runs fine.
I have also replaced all 3 battery mosfets with no change. The 1st battery mosfet has 20v going in. Pic attached.
Does it sound like a battery ic problem, it has bq2470. Not sure if I should replace that as well at this stage as I'd need to order one.
              Thanks....

              Asus FX505DY - Battery not charging - BQ24780S
              by Iherduleikgemz
              Hello everyone

I have been working on this laptop mentioned in the title, it initially had a shorted capacitor. After I replaced it, the thing started working again, but there is still another problem. The laptop was running off a charger, the battery was reporting 96% charge... but when I unplugged the charger, the laptop died. I've measured the battery voltage - 0V. I think it is locked. (Screenshot from batterymon, below).

I've ordered a new 3rd-party battery, but I think there's something wrong with it too - the laptop boots, but the battery isn't charging. Also,...
