Asus TUF won’t run off battery

I have an Asus TUF machine that doesn't run off battery. Runs off charger ok, shows orange battery charging light and shows battery is at 96%. Battery voltage is less than 0.5v though. It had a short on the 20v rail from a dead cap. Pic attached. Removed cap and replaced a dc in mosfet. Machine now powers and runs fine.
I have also replaced all 3 battery mosfets with no change. The 1st battery mosfet has 20v going in. Pic attached.
Does it sound like a battery ic problem, it has bq2470. Not sure if I should replace that as well at this stage as I'd need to order one.
    Thanks.

update I think the battery is bad. It’s does not pull any current when I put power supply probes on it.

Yes, test with a known good battery. The battery bms may be locked from a deep discharge state.

Please mention the original part number and replacement part number for dc-in mosfet.

QM3100M6 was original mosfet found on board and it was replaced with SiRA14DP.

I have ordered a new battery in, will update once that is fitted.

Replacement mosfet is not suitable and has much lower specs.
          QM31006-Continious Drain Current=160/Pulsed Drain Current=300
          SiRA14DP-Continious Drain Current=58/Pulsed Drain Current=130

Btw, what is the voltage on pin4 of replacement dc-in mosfet?

well that sucks. I used ChatGPT to find out if they were similar and it said better specs..
pin 4 was less than 1v from memory. Customer took laptop back and is using from charger only until I get replacement battery so I can’t measure to be sure right now. Maybe I need to order new mosfets as well then.

Pin4(Gate) should ve 25V and it cant be 1V as 19V flows too mb and you can turn it on with adapter only.

However, if the mosfet is shorted, the pin4 voltage may be 19V and thats a problem.

              just confirm whenever its possible.

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 won't run on battery after motherboard replacement
                by dhenion
I'm working on my sister's laptop: Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 - The motherboard died so I replaced it.

                The original board was:
                ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 A

                The replacement board is:
                ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 B (identical except B vs A - I couldn't find an A board anywhere. Visually they are identical.)

It boots right up on the replaced motherboard and everything works fine on the new motherboard - but it won't run off battery. When I disconnect the charger it immediately dies. When I plug it back in and reboot the system - it still shows the battery at...

I just bought a SkyRc MC3000 battery testing machine very interesting device temp
                by sam_sam_sam
I just bought this device that came in the mail today I put a set of 4 brand new 21700 high current battery on the charger

The charger has four individual temperature sensors for each battery cell
The bar graph for each individual battery cell is very primitive but will give you a good idea of how each battery cell is preforming and I find something odd I put on the individual battery testing machine that gives more details of the charging/discharging curves but it will be quicker to just charge and discharge battery cells that do not have any issues

                Or test...

                Asus FX505DY - Battery not charging - BQ24780S
                by Iherduleikgemz
                Hello everyone

I have been working on this laptop mentioned in the title, it initially had a shorted capacitor. After I replaced it, the thing started working again, but there is still another problem. The laptop was running off a charger, the battery was reporting 96% charge... but when I unplugged the charger, the laptop died. I've measured the battery voltage - 0V. I think it is locked. (Screenshot from batterymon, below).

I've ordered a new 3rd-party battery, but I think there's something wrong with it too - the laptop boots, but the battery isn't charging. Also,...

ASUS TUF FA506IV-AS76 vram mosfet short, then battery cant charge
                by jkyoho
I recently fixed a FA506IV cam with Vram mosfet short on Vin(19v)to ground. Got both mosfet replaced and now laptop could turns on and GPU everything works but battery not charging. Battery status shows 100% on both BIOS page and Windows system.
Measured voltage got 0.3v on battery red lead not going up. charging mosfet gate low and 19v not passing through inductor.
I also tried dc bench supply 14v charge directly onto battery but seems not drawing anthing.

                Any idea?
