If it still has VCore but is not POSTing, you can probe BIOS CS# pin with the oscilloscope and LPC bus too (on LFRAME#) to see if there's any activity but it won't help much anyway. It can be almost anything, EC, PCH, CPU, maybe GPU, random stuff going on somewhere…

I'd try another known good BIOS.
Yes, I'm using a known good DDR3L RAM stick, I have even tried a second known good DDR3L RAM stick with no difference.

I don't have an oscilloscope for that.

Could I try a basic reflow with my SMD gun on one of the main chips?

I haven't been able to find any bios for this model apart from the one linked by SMDflea that I have tried.

            Same result with 1.5V DDR3 and 1.35V DDR3L.

I don't have ether, the post card sounds good, is there any particular post card I should get?

I put 3.3V to pin3 & 5 of U10 and the GPU started to warm up so I assume it was powered on but same issue happened.

I put some pressure down on the CPU and the CPU fan started working as it never did before but no boot, I heated up the CPU with the heat gun and now the CPU has no Vcore so I assume the CPU is probably dead.

RTX 3080 Ventus 10GB OC - powers on for 10 secs then off again
                          by dicky96
Hey guys has anyone come across this fault?

MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 16GB OC

The GPU powers up, all voltages look OK, Vcore 0.76V, Vmem 1.38V, PEX 0.95V

Then after about 10 secs or so all voltages power back down again apart from 5V and 1.8V.

It does not seem to be temperature related - if I power off and on immediately, it just does the same thing again

I have a power sequence chart that says another voltage powers up after 1.8V and before PEX . It could be MSVDD but I am not totally sure

                          Does anyone have a schematic...

                          Epson EB-U42 projector / Caps with 0.7 ohms ?!
                          by narf
                          hi all,

first of all: i'm a (motivated) newbie, so please forgive me any stupid question i may or may not ask

i'm currently repairing a projector: Epson EB-U42 that doesn't start (no lights, nothing).

                          what i've found so far:
                          - the PSU does its job and supplies 12V to the mainboard via the connector.
                          - shortly thereafter, there is a mosfet (TS420-600B) where i can test 12V on the one side (in the data sheet this side is called Anode), Gate 0V, Kathode shorted to ground
                          - not far away, there's the first cap with a resistance of 0.7 ohms....

Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-55M1 [GH51G mb] powers on, no vcc_core

                          Hello all,

I'm stumped on this guy, so wanted to see if anyone has any further ideas:

                          Intro:

This is an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-55M1 with unknown prior history (bought "as-is" on eBay). It charges the battery and powers on from both AC adapter and battery, so I think this rules out main power issues.

Upon attempt to boot, it will "reboot" (meaning powers down and then powers on again) only once, and then stays stuck in a status of lights on / no post / no monitor. Powering on with fn+esc maxes out the fans on first boot attempt,...
