Apple macbook pro 820-2936 VD0R - dc in rail 0 sensor above limit. Please help!!

    Board 820 2936 b water damage
Board was not booting, i cleaned the board and i got green light.
Board started to boot after restoring some bad joints
    Fixed backlight and image
When i run asd efi for this board it shows up VD0R sensor reading above the limit...
If i remove the charger the error disappears.
I have the original 60w adapter.
Already tried a good known adapter 60w
    And a80w adapter
    All the same...

Also if the charger is plugged the pc freezes and is slow.

    Please help!!!

    Check SMC_DCIN_VSENSE and PP3V3_S5_AVREF_SMC

Thank you very much! The problem was solved!
Smc_dcin_vsense was bad, r5314 was reading 5.8k instead of 5.49k.
I checked before voltage on r5313 and it was 2.89-2.9v, i didn't know it should read 2.79v. Also r5313 was reading 27.4k. I got fooled

If i test the board without battery i get another error: VP0R reading high. Is this normal? With battery it pases all asd efi tests!

Ps: is there a way or software to see the actual voltages? Like in the attached picture? Thank you!!!

SMC_DCIN_VSENSE should read around 2.75V (2.79V is ok) with a 60W charger. With an 85W charger it may read around 3.1V and that would trigger the error, it's normal. A 60W charger should not trigger the error.

VP0R is the SMC_PBUS_VSENSE line. With no battery, PPBUS_G3H should be around 12.56V so SMC_PBUS_VSENSE should be around 2.1V. When the battery is plugged in and charging it will be a bit lower.

          Thank you for explaining!
Any luck with the software i asked?
          Thanks again!

Apple MacBook Pro A2338 820-02773-A AON Rail burnt
            by mferna14
Hi Dear Friend., I am working on a Apple MacBook Pro A2338 820-02773-A. The history was that the AON Rail on the Trackpad connector JT400 was burnt. After I removed the burnt connector, I tested with the meter & no shorts. Connected the USB C power & all booted fine, no problems at all. I soldered a New TP connector put in the old trackpad with a brand new Flex cable. The laptop beeped in the start but no display. I removed the connector & the display was fine again. USED a known good Trackpad & a Flex cable, even with this still the same problem. I checked the connector whether...

Apple 076-00236 Genuine Apple Data Migration Tool for MacBook Pro 2016 2017
            by samstown
            Hello,

This special tool from Apple is used to recover data from Macbook A1706. I've been using it for a while but it stops working. When connecting Thunderbolt 3 between the tool and working Macbook, Macbook should prompt "new device detected, allow or not"... but it doesn't.

Has anyone ever experience this ? It's not a cabling or power supply issue, some IC have stopped working but not sure which one. Probably the one that manager thunderbolt 3

            Thanks

Lowest possible resistance on laptop motherboard rail - Guide Table request
            by Nagy Daniel
Hi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.

I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.

I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.

So, I generated a table with AI so I can...

Apple MacBook A2442 faulty PMIC - Question about possible replacement
            by arahban
            Hello Gentlemen,

I am working on an apple MacBook A2442 board pn 820-02098-A with a visible short on the PMIC U7700 MVK-PLUS as per the schematics

I have a donner board from apple macbook pro m1 A2338 PN 820-02020 and I saw that the PMIC U8100 TMLT46B0-JPE could be a possible replacement for the U7700

Can you please help me confirm if the U7700 can be replaced with U8100 ?

APL1098 is it the same as APL1096

Thank you very much in advanced

            Ahmad

General question about MacBook power rails for repair.
            by SarcasticOP
I am looking at an A2337 and found this for the order of power rails and what they do. Can this be confirmed before I dive into hunting down power rails that do not exist or are not neccisary?
            • PPBUS_G3H (12.6V-12.8V)
              • This is the main power rail that supplies power to the entire system. Check this rail first, as it must be present for other power rails to work.
            • PP3V42_G3H (3.42V)
              • This power rail is derived from PPBUS_G3H and is used to power the SMC (System Management Controller) and other essential circuits. It should be present if PPBUS_G3H is working correctly.
            • PPVRTC_G3H (3.3V)
