What do you do with a downloaded BIOS dump?

As an example, I want to flash a BIOS dump that was obtained here, or elsewhere, onto a mobo to see if it fixes an issue. Do you guys normally go through the process of clearing the ME region before flashing, or just flash it straight away? Or do you go a step further, and update the bump with the correct DMI info on the board you are working on, then ME clean and finally flash?

I imagine that a straight flash would atleast give you the idea if it fixes the issue, but then you would normally need to insure all the DMI info is correct and clear the ME region also before giving back to customer/friend, etc.

    What is your normal process?

flashing straight away to see if it changes something, or repair the failure

after that u can clenning, injecting product keys ordo other stuff that needs to be done to work normally.

Request: SPI Flash BIOS Dump (Winbond 25Q128) for Dahua NVR4216-4KS2
      by spmetroil
      Hello,

I am trying to repair a Dahua NVR4216-4KS2 that is not booting.
The main BIOS/firmware is stored in an SPI flash EEPROM (Winbond 25Q128, labeled as U130 on the PCB).

I have a CH341A programmer and I already attempted the following steps:
      1. Identified the correct chip (W25Q128, 3.3V SPI flash).
      2. Tried to read the contents with CH341A Programmer software. The dump seems corrupted and I often get the error: “Chip with the contents are in disagreement.”
      3. Compared several chip type selections (24Cxx and 25Qxx families) to confirm it is indeed a 25 series SPI

ASUS ZenBook UX480F : need help with cleaning the ME region of my BIOS dump
      by mkdj
      Dear all,
I have a ASUS ZenBook UX480F with the following symptoms:

I suspect it is a BIOS issue. So I decided to try to clean the ME region. I followed the guide on win-raid, and I believe I have done everything correctly. My problem is: when I open the outimage.bin in ME Analyzer, it says that it is Extracted, and not Region, Extracted as it should be. Is it normal, or did I do something not correctly? This is my first experience editing BIOS files.

I would appreciate if someone could take time to explain the issue, so that I can learn. But I would...

The charging red LED lights up, but the charging screen doesn't show any indication.
When I press the power button, the blue LED cycles on and off three times, then the screen doesn't turn on, and the device won't boot.
(I've tried removing the battery and resetting the device, but the issue persists.)
