Re: BQ735/BQ24735 on asus X455LD
ACOK on the BQ24735 should be active High, therefore probably at 3V.

Re: Asus X541UVK NO VCORE
Is it just the one rail? What is the resistance on each of the larger coils?

ASUS UX303LN rev2 +3VDSW partial short?
This board will no post and has no charger or power on LEDs when AC adapter plugged in. Most coils measure fine except +3VDSW which in diode mode is 0.076V. This doesn't sound like a typical short for this rail to me, so wondering what might be causing it. I've injected 3V on the rail and the only thing that heats up somewhat is the small die (PCH?). Does that sound like its done for?
I also have the +1.35V rail measuring 0.16V in diode mode. Does that sound right for DRAM rail or is that also partially shorted?

Re: ASUS UX303LN don't start with battery only
@SMDFlea, what is is the significance of DSWODVREN signal? I have this same board with a dead RTC batt that I'm troubleshooting now. Should the board be able to boot without the RTC battery when using AC adapter?

Asus UX360UA Bios
So I've got this MB which when AC adapter is in, shows the charge and Power LED only, will not POST, no fan spin, nothing on LCD. Only draws 19mA @ 19V in this condition
I've pulled the BIOS from the 25Q64FVS chip. Can someone take a look at it and see if it looks OK?
Does anyone have a .bin for this MB (UX360UA Rev 2.0)...

Re: Looking for a new hot air station, any recommendations?
Ok thanks....Unfortunately for me in Canada, if I'm ordering/shipping from the US, I need to add on the taxes and possible duties, where as from China, it usually gets past without.
I'd be interested in your opinion on it after you get a chance to try it out.

Re: Looking for a new hot air station, any recommendations?
@tibimakai did they cancel your order for the Best 863? I put a order in Nov 6 they have just cancelled my order without reason. I did contact them about a week ago to find out the status, and at that time, they said that there was a large demand and they were having trouble filling the orders in time. I waited 1.5 months for them to cancel on me

Re: Charging Section - Some basic Questions
I had this exact same symptom when I was trying to replace the charging IC on an Asus. It ended up being that it wasn't completely soldered correctly on all pins. Might want to replace the charging IC if the battery proves OK

Re: HP 15-AC135NA Dead
I can't find that schematic or BV. Does it work now without the cap? If so, don't worry about it for now.

Re: HP 15-AC135NA Dead
I don't think you ever mentioned the motherboard part number in the post? If you can find that, then maybe we can help you find a schematic or boardview, and look up that cap. value.
Otherwise you might just use your DMM (if it can measure capacitance), and measure the cap right beside the one that was shorted (they look similar), to give you a rough idea for a capacitance value. As Piernov pointed out, it is most likely atleast a 25V rating as it is on the B+ line

Re: HP 15-AC135NA Dead
Use your DMM in diode mode and put the red lead on ground point somewhere, and the black lead on one side of the pad where you removed the B+ resistor. What is the Voltage reading? What about the other pad of the B+ resistor location (black lead)? What is it's voltage reading?
If you are reading something around 0.4-0.6V you don't have a short anymore. If either are 0.00V or so, then you still have a short on the B+ line.
If you have no short, you can probably leave the cap off, but I prefer to replace if I am going to use for...

Re: HP 15-AC135NA Dead
Before you replace anything, ensure that you no longer have a B+ rail short.
The B+ resistor is usually about 10mOhms, and is not easy to measure accurately with a typical DMM. The resistor is more than likely fine, but before you re-solder that back in, make sure the short on that B+ rail is now gone. There might have been more than one cap. that was shorted

Re: ACER Notebook Spin 7
If this board has never been worked on (except by you), then you have to assume that the FETs on the board are correct from the OEM. Take note of each FET part number, and look them up on the net. That will tell you if they are N or P ch. I have seen schematics indicate wrong before.
If it is possible that someone has worked on it other than you, then you can also try searching for high resolution images for that board in order to verify the FETs.
Hope you can straighten out what should be there on the board, then we can go forward...

Re: ACER Notebook Spin 7
I think the schematic you have is incorrect, or not the right one for your MB.
As per the BQ24780S pdf, the FETs are suppose to be N-ch. (1st page of attachment), including the BATFET (PU4402 in your case). All the FETs you have on the MB are N-ch as you have found out
I would still be looking at the PU4402, and also the BQ chip....Last edited by brew99; 06-21-2019, 05:11 PM.
