I have been working on this one for about 2 months trying to figure out why there is no audio. Originally came in DOA with zero water damage. Found bad SMC and back to life. However no audio. I have tried about 20 SMCs and I had gotten audio back but then I had high fan spin and some other random issues, so I redid SMC and issues were resolved, but back to no audio. I've checked everything and tried everything times 10. New DCIN boards, and 20 SMCs and about 40 reballs. Area on the board now has some solder masking. Can't figure this mofo out. Anyone out there a super genius with audio circuits?

Re: MBA 820-00165 No Audio
I played around with lifting legs on Q1920 and it seems it is working. I don't see any shorts, new flexs, new DCINs, new speakers. Checked caps, resistors. Don't see low DMM.
I just don't get it.
Probably just going to give up on this one as super odd. Spent over 40 hours on it approximately. -

Looking at a 00165 with no audio too and found this thread. I admire your persistenceI think that you are on the FB Macbook logic board repair group too (Peter Newman)

The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.
The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...2 Photos -
by i_am_patchHi All. I had a Roland KR-3500 Digital Piano (similar to the KR-4500) that exhibited a Crackling audio sound on all keys. After reading somewhere about someone with a similar issue who had replaced all the Electrolytic caps I decided to also go down that route. (Spoiler : It worked !) After some basic troubleshooting I determined that it could be noise feeding thru from the Keyboard scanning since the Demo tunes played back undistorted and the Audio amp / speakers were fine ( Inserted an Audio signal into the rear Audio input). After extracting the main board from the shield, I replaced 7 Capacitors...

by MOSSEPHi
Im hoping someone might be able to give me some idea of what may be wrong with my Monitor Audio RSW12 Sub.
Ive owned it since new in around 2002, so would really like to keep it running if I can, it was the first ‘decent' bit of audio equipment I ever purchased and is a little sentimental.
The issue I had was that it would power up with the red light, but sometimes the green light would not come on and I would get no bass from it. If the green light did come on though, I would get sound out of it.
I have already tried replacing all of the... -
by grimacelordHello,
I'm working on a MacBook Air A2337 that had liquid damage on the right I/O board. I ultrasonic cleaned the board and it all functions except the computer has no audio. I tried reballing the audio IC which is TAS5770AC0, but that did not restore audio. I could just replace the entire board, but I wanted to see if replacing the audio IC would fix it first. Mouser has a similar audio IC in stock which is TAS5770LC0YFFR, but I wasn't sure if it is compatible. I was just wondering if anyone knew if I could use the one from mouser as an acceptable replacement or if I need to purchase...12-11-2023, 11:13 AM -
by PiaskosHi, i've got problem with Dell Vostro 5490.
Board - Mantis CML 18788-1
Windows says "no audio device detected". The other functions work properly.
What i've done:
1. I checked motherboard
2. I changed audio codec (ALC3204)
3. I reflashed bios with clear ME
4. Audio is enable in bios
5. Both speakers are good
6. After installing the drivers from the Dell website, the devices visible in the manager:
- Audio for intel displays
- Intel Smart Sound Technology... - Loading...
