    asus gl552vw motherboard issue

hi to all, i bought asus gl552vw for parts, just to use some of the parts for my working laptop (had bad housing, cracked plastic...)According to the guy that sold it to me it doesnt turn at all, and as far as he can see it has water damage..he got it cheap from one of his customers...
When i disassembly it there were not only traces of water on motherboard but mud also....lol..like the guy was working in the field...and not only that... some idiot probably couldnt unscrew the heatsink so he basicly tarred it from the motherboard..and buy using screwdriver he made a several cuts on the board near the gpu ...some of them looks like surface damage and some of them goes a little deep...but..i like a good challenge..so i wonted to fix a motherboard if i can.
I first cleaned everything, found one short mosfet, replaced it and after that i couldnt find short anywhere on the board... Reprogrammed the bios and put the charger...and yes it did start...but i couldnt get +VCCGT, so i used four dumps i found on the internet and one of them worked..i got to bios. I was suprised how things are easy going...after that i installed win 10 in 10 minutes and everything goes well, i installed aida64 extreme and all temperatures were fine, below 40 C. And then. after a couple of minutes, first it like frozes i can see like gray screen..and after that fans at max and funny thing it ejects dvd out...i cut the power off, then again start it and after a few minutes it will do exact the same.
After that i installed win 8 and all goes well...after that i downloaded drivers from windows update and i can see in control panel two gpu-s, one intel display and geforce g960m..both displayed in control panel...but after a couple of minutes working again something like freezes and then black or gray screen, also ejecting dvd tray...
My question is, is this bios issue or gpu? how can i be sure? the problem is that i dont have a working battery so i can not flash bios...
Is there some good program who will monitor what happened?
I was thinking maybe g960m is damaged (some nets damaged with screwdriver) but then again, i dont understand what dvd ejecting has to do with gpu?

    Thank you all for suggestions!

Did you try without the DVD drive?
Can you take a picture of the damage?

ASUS Zephyrus GA401I Severe Lag, Suspect Motherboard/Power Issue - Need Help Diagnosing
          by MakNCheese
          Hi everyone,

I'm having a serious issue with my ASUS Zephyrus GA401I (4 years old, worked perfectly until recently). The system is lagging heavily, even in the BIOS, and is charging extremely slowly (a few percent in hours), making it nearly unusable. I suspect a motherboard or power delivery issue.

          Symptoms:
          • Severe lag across the system, including BIOS navigation.
          • Slow boot times and unresponsive performance in Windows.
          • Battery charges very slowly (e.g., ~5% in 2–3 hours).
          • No error messages or BSODs, just extreme sluggishness.

          What I've Tried:
          • Replaced

Hi, help needed if anyone can spare any knowledge for me.i understand its an old spec now but been reliable enough for me until this.
          bootup suddenly doesn't show bios screen/menus.So can't do anything!🥴
I don't know how to upload video of what happens.
So I have screenshot 4 pics of what happens when power button pressed.
1st beep from board sounds normal,
          Bios screen should show up.
I always have connected from onboard hdmi port to TV.
          Tried VGA lead same issue.
Also tried swap ram,and clean everything.
          But with no luck.

Legion Y540 17irh motherboard issue ( need help to know how to diagnose my motherboard)
          by Docus
          Hi everyone 😀,

I'm here today to ask for help with repairing the motherboard of a Lenovo Legion Y540 17IRH.

To give you some context, I'm passionate about computer repair so much so that I've invested in a lot of tools and started practicing on dead and old hardware. I've been learning how to solder and desolder components, mostly focusing on phone repairs.

Recently, I bought a broken Lenovo Legion Y540 17IRH for just €150, and there are two main reasons why I made this purchase:
          1. I already own the exact same model, but its plastic chassis is badly damaged.

          ASUS P5GC-MX motherboard recap
          by momaka
Here’s another motherboard that needed a full recap: an ASUS P5GC-MX.
This one was gifted to me some years ago by user Pentium 4, along with a few other goodies. It actually came in working order with no bulging or leaking caps. However, I noted there were United Chemicon KZG caps everywhere on the motherboard. The CPU VRM output (CPU V_core) was the only exception: it had only 2x KZG. The rest was 6x UCC TMV 4V 680 uF caps… which aren’t any good news either.

So here is what the motherboard looked like with its original caps:
