After my ASUS motherboard had random freezes and lockups, i found out that a defective dimm caused the issue, but after change the red indication led on the board keeps flashin with new dimm memory . Reset of the pushbuttion or reset of the cmos does nothing. After the damage one FET near the dimm gets very hot and also some smoke appeared of probably small smd resistors or ic probably. After replacement the FET still takes to much power and burns. When the regulator/ power ic close to the dimms UP1642P is removed the fet keeps cool so I decided to order this and replace it with a new one. But i think also some SMD parts around the ics are burnt a little or are damaged due to the fault. Also the smd caps on the bard seem too low with high ESR. I ordered 10 new ones 560uF 6,3v them too and hope the fault will be gone. Are the locups caused by fault caps probably or is it just a dimm getting bad >? I cant find a component board view of the smd parts around the ic so help or info would be appreciated. I found a useful repair flowchart of this bard in pdf, but the bard components of these smd resistors and caps are not printed. I need info on these as i guess i cant fix it probably 100 percent. Thanks in advance for info tips or o board schematics of these components,

by NovgorodHi!
I have an Asus Z270i mini-ITX board with a dead DIMM slot (the one further from the CPU). The board POSTs with only the other DIMM populated but gets stuck with the DRAM error LED when the bad slot is populated. The test RAM and CPU are known working (confirmed in a different board, both memory channels are fine). The board was working for many years in a watercooled system and had a tiny bit of corrosion in different places (which came off without issues) and no visible component or trace damage.

by Pize92Hello everyone.
I have a problem.
The BIOS chip on my Lenovo Legion 5 17ACH6H appears to be defective. I wanted to read the chip first with the ch431a programmer and then with the t48 and create a dump. However, it always threw an error during verification.
I then bought a new BIOS chip from Aliexpress and loaded an existing dump onto the chip. With the corresponding DMI.
Unfortunately, the laptop now keeps restarting.
My question is, can you simply use the DMI from a foreign dump, or is the motherboard completely lost due to the defective BIOS chip? -
by rumpumpel1I have a ThinkPad T14 which always finds an error at a very specific address during a RAM test. I therefore believe that exactly one of the RAM chips on the mainboard is defective. How do I find this defective RAM chip?07-29-2025, 11:55 AM

by eccerr0rAnyone have/use these SODIMM to desktop DIMM adapters, well, not to convert signaling types but just change socket types. Are they stable? Do they slow things down and force downclocks?
I have an unused DDR3 4GB SODIMM and have a need for a 4GB DDR3 DIMM. Wondering if I should:
- buy a 4GB DIMM (and selling the 4GB SODIMM seems unlikely)
- get an adapter for the SODIMM?
- Find a cheap 8GB DIMM somewhere and hope it's not a SODIMM...
Though DDR3 is my highest technology module out there I suspect I really should be getting 8GB modules especially for a...-

Problem is dimm display. I can see image when mobile flash light is used. Exact schematic is not available for this m/b and i've linked a reference scheme which is almost similar.
Measurement on lvds connector.
01. Pin29-30(+VBAT)-19V
02.Pin27(LVDS_PWM)-3.3V
03.Pin26(BL_Enable)-3.07V
04.Pin5(LVDS_DATA)-3.3V
05.Pin4(LVDS_CLK)-3.3V
06.Pin3-3.3V
07.Pin1-2(LCDVCC)-3.3V
Not sharing other pin measurements as i think they are not relevant as i can see a dimm...HP Compaq Notebook 431 Schematic 01015FY00-600-G04-03-2025, 11:18 PM - Loading...
