Re: 820-00138-A Not outputting PPVOUT_S0_LCDBKLT
thank you for reply
My mobo is 820-00138-A...visualy looks same as 00163-A...but not possible to find correct boardview
Soo where to start.
On lcd connector is not short on Pin1 (LCDBKLT) and 0V.
On Fuse 7700 i have 12.5V on both side.
On fet Q7701 is nothing - 0V - not shorted.
On U7701 pins 5,18 = 5V, on 19 0V.Comment

Re: 820-00138-A Not outputting PPVOUT_S0_LCDBKLT
00163 has a dGPU, 00138 doesn't.
00138 boardview is not available, you have to look at either 3662 or 00163 depending on the area.
Give more info about the history and the state of the machine. Confirm you have image on the display, and confirm you are using a 2015 display for sure.OpenBoardView — https://github.com/OpenBoardView/OpenBoardViewComment

Re: 820-00138-A Not outputting PPVOUT_S0_LCDBKLT
Yes, LCD_HPD does come from the LCD panel.
With that in mind, make sure you're doing all this testing with the LCD panel plugged in!
So the question now is why is LCD_HPD 0v?
If you're testing with the LCD panel plugged in there must be a short to ground somewhere on LCD_HPDComment

Re: 820-00138-A Not outputting PPVOUT_S0_LCDBKLT
Today working on a 3662 board. After a long search i found a short in Q7706. Pin 3 was 12.6v. This should be around 8.6.Comment

by CapLeakerI’ve got this Ancel BA-101 battery tester for a few years now and discovered an issue testing flooded car batteries. The damn thing reads always low compared to other battery testers. I mean low in the tune of 25 to 30%! AGM’s read comparable within margin of error. I wonder if all these have the same problem or mine is defective somehow?...

by waakyeHello fellow bad caps members,
I have a Dell XPS 13 9730 that a picked up today. The seller claimed that it stops working all of a sudden. The ammeter reads 5V, 0.11A.
Could some help me out.
Thanks. -
by abajorI was wondering if there is a knowledge base on troubleshooting HDD failures and when it might be viable to try certain repair/recovery techniques.
I recently got a WD20EARS 2TB Drive from a customer in hopes of retrieving data. The drive reads as zero size, I can't hear any head activity but it does appear the platter is spinning I can feel some gyroscopic action picking up the drive.
As a shot it the dark I bought a donor board and swapped the rom chip. Same issue zero byte drive.
I'm assuming that the armature is no longer functional internally so no data can...-

by tony359HI all,
I have an Asus S410U which is dead, no signs of life. The PSU is outputting 19V and it works when under load with an 8OHM resistor.
On the motherboard, I have 19V in getting into the first mosfet and then nothing. I don't see obvious shorts though I haven't checked with thermal camera. I noticed that the rail going to the RAM reads 4 Ohm but that might be normal.
First thing is: how does a laptop generate the "standby voltage"? I'd imagine the 19V is being stepped down into a lower voltage for the standby logic to work. Is there a controller... -
by logocar3Hello,
I am having problem with fixing Philips 288P6LJEB/27 monitor PSU, board number 715G6457-P01-000-0010.
Data:
- Schematic is attached to post
- Photos can be found on flicker: https://www.flickr.com/photos/198547898@N03
Problem:
- PSU board have power outputs at 5.2V, 12V and 24V - board is correctly outputting only 5.2V (correct), and not 12V (without load only 8.16V) or 24V (without load 0V)
State of PCB / monitor:
- Bought defect monitor from a company auction
- There were some attempts to fix...-
