Lenovo g500 switch on and off after 5 seconds

Testing the mono I found that I have short on +vcc_core, +1.05s_vccp and +vcc_gfxcore_axg
I disconnected all positive side of 330u capacitors near CPU and I still have short.

    Does anyone has any idea!

    Thanks

Exact resistance to ground on those? Higher than a couple of ohm is not a short on a CPU power rail.

I will test tomorrow and I will let you know.
One more thing, under CPU there are 5_6 capacitors that are shown as short, and if CPU is install the PL905 is shown short to ground. If I remove CPU PL905 is not short that is the pl1 +vcc_gfxcore

Cpu/gpu power rail always has very low resistance as piernov has said. I'll check first whether you have 5/3.3v VS voltage.

          +vcc_core has 15ohms.
          I do have 3.3 and 5v VS

15 ohms is acceptable for those rails. Let's imagine the startup sequence. EC (embedded controller) after power button press is checking the voltages, temperatures, maybe presence of some HW, buttons, lid... etc. If anything of these goes bad, EC will shutdown the laptop (mostly the VRM controllers generating all other voltages than 3V3 and 5V.

In your case, it can be also SW issue, EC BIOS corruption, failed EC chip, or any other issue mentioned in a previous paragraph.

Lenovo Legion 5 15ACH6H with possible short on +3VL.

                  Hello!

I am working on a Lenovo Legion 5 15ACH6H that will not take power when connected to the charger and will not turn on. The device was left in a car overnight when it got cold outside and no longer powers on. Inside the device was relatively clean and dust-free, and it did not have any immediate signs of liquid damage.

The boardview files are available over at https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...h-boot-problem. I am not sure of the etiquette...

Need help pinpointing my short on this board (Lenovo) NM-D351
                  by survivalbloke
This is a Lenovo Thinkpad P15s Gen 2 with a board NM-D351. I'm having trouble finding my dead short to ground. I have the area narrowed down after much probing. You'll see in the boardview, there are two coils involved. I removed those coils and verified that that short is not on the mosfet side of those coils. . You'll see an arrangement on both sides of the board of 5 caps and one smaller one to the side. I have removed ALL 12 of these small caps and still have the short. Prior to that I injected at those caps with 1v5a and the short was only drawing 800ma so I could not see anything on thermal....

Lenovo 15iml05 Power led lights for 12 seconds then off 12 seconds
                  by liquidzorch
Hello. I bought a faulty Lenovo ideapad 3, but it turns out the 3Valw buck converter burnt a hole through the board. I was able to clean it up, and remove all the shorts. I now can power the 3.3v rails from a bench power suppy while connecting the laptop to its psu, and I get the additional 5valw, 1.8v, and 1.05v, form what I can tell in the schematics, those are the only 4 voltages I should see before turning on, and they are present. When I hit the power button, the power indicator on the left side turns on (not the one on the power button), stays on for about 12 seconds, then turns off for...

                  Lenovo Thinkpad E15 G1 Gen 1 Short
                  by cheebster
Hello Badcaps, got a Lenovo Thinkpad E15 G1 Gen 1 NM-C421 with a short i've found on a mosfet. When plugging the USB-C meter, it cycles 20V-off-20v-off. On mosfet PQ1102 i see a short a 12ohm to gnd resistance. Removed the mosfet, measuring on the board gives same result. Checking on a previous post i saw this schematic picture, but not sure if what i'm seeing is normal and what would be the proper tests to do from here. Not an expert by any means by trying to learn. Thanks...
