Macbook Air A1465 Not Charging after liquid damage

    Hello guys,

Hopefully someone will shed me a light.
I have this Macbook Air A1465 820-00164-A which seems to work on a charger but wont charge. Interesting thing is that battery icon shows it as charging and connected to a power source. But battery not taking charge and there is no charging light on the adapter either.

It suffered a liquid damage with no traces of oxidation on the board.

It turns on and qorks as expected apart than the charging issue.
I am planing to order and replace the charging chip, and was wondering if anywhere else i should look first. Voltages provided seems to be okay.

Schematic and board designs can be found here http://downloadsekarang123.blogspot....schematic.html

Hope you guys will have better ideas than me.

Look at Louis Rossman, he probably has something about this...

A1466 Macbook Air (Liquid damage repair)
        by mon2
Hi. Recently serviced a damaged A1466 Macbook Air. Thought to post the issues and resolution for each.

Macbook AIR Model A1466 Diagnostic 09-01-2021

Issue: Liquid damaged (beer spill) Macbook AIR will not power up.

        Problems & Resolutions

        1) Attached Apple magsafe power adapter. No green / no orange light. This confirms the absence of the PP3V42_G3H voltage rail. The PP3V42_G3H rail is the primary voltage rail necessary to communicate with the magsafe power adapter to report the green or orange light status to the end user....

MacBook Pro 13inch 2017mid (A1706 820-00923-A) - liquid damage - USBC and Display short circuit
        by rilley
        Hello everyone,
I am new into this, sorry to post it here. I want to make this as a pet hobby project, as this mac is not urgent.

        I have (Macbook Pro 13inch 2017mid) A1706 820-00923-A

My mac had liquid damage a long time ago, the connector from J8500 is damaged on pin 46 (PP5V_S0_ALSCAM_F), I guess the LCD/display panel is in short circuit, as I saw the connector from the LCD burned as well.

And the resistor L4004 is literally burned.

From what I see from the schematics, it does not affect any other rails, only the connection to the display...

        Lenovo IdeaPad 5 ITL05 | LA-K321P | Liquid Damage & No Charging
        by grimacelord
        Hello,

I have an LA-K321P board here that came to me for no power. Upon visual inspection of the board, I found some liquid damage around PQB13 area. Replaced PQB1, PQB2, and PQB13. Laptop will power on if the battery has a charge, but the computer will not charge the battery. USB Type C meter shows 20V being negotiated, but virtually zero amp draw (0.0100 at most that appears for a brief second about once every 5 seconds or so). Looking through thermal camera, UT1 (SN2001024YBGR) is getting hot. I have schematic, but no board view. Was hoping someone could help me get this charging...

MacBook A1989 overheating after liquid damage
        by Jenzo
        Hey everyone,

Had a MacBook pro 13" 2018 (A1989) come in for liquid damage. The only liquid damage was all around UB400. It was most likely soda, so there wasn't that much corrosion. I reflowed the UB400 and the QB chips with some flux, and replaced the caps/resistors that were in bad shape. Seemed to be working fine at first, but the next day when testing it again, the laptop charges and boots fine, the CPU would overheat, and U7210 would get to 70 degrees Celsius as well. I'm testing with only screen and battery connected at this point.

        I can't figure out how...

        MacBook Pro A1989 liquid damage
        by MrBojangles
        Hi!

        First post here...

MacBook Pro A1989 (820-00850-A) with liquid damage showing 5V.

I clean the board with alcohol and I get 20V. Fans spin but no chime or image.

I then check the board with a thermal camera and see a component, Q7030, that is hot. I clean extra around this area and now I'm back to 5V.

So... that means it's time to learn how to use schematics and boardview and what I've learned so far is that PPBUS_G3H is the "always on" power mode.

I've checked multiple components pertaining to PPBUS_G3H...
