You should study first about a mobo basic architecture. Then you'll be able to easily realize the effect of bad SIO. Actually an SIO is an Embedded Controller and gives enable signal for ACPI power stages and other chips as well as LED indicator etc.

Can any one tell me specific reason of Sio Bad controller symptom
