Hi help needed Im working on Asus K55vd motherboard. It wont switch on drawing .40ma. I have +3VA0 and +5VA0 but no output across Pl8101 or Pl8100.
    RT8239 3.3v/5v reg.
Signals present are D6806 PWR_SW# 3v drop to 0V when power buttons pressed.
    c3022 pm_syspwrok .34mv
    D3022 +3vA_ec and ec_rst 3v
I have tried reflashing the bios but still the same.

Cant find the schematics I only have the boardview file and the repair guide.

Re: Asus K55vd motherboard dead no Leds

I've Compare it with asus x450cc and x200ca, +12VSUS, stand by after plug in adapter.

+12vsus coming from charge pump from 5VAO rail, this voltage for input load switch mosfet to generate to VS or V (mark ie 3vs, 3v) many voltage rail.

You can see in datasheet RT family.
More easy to understand BV (boardview) with other schematic, like asus UX31A2.

How many volt on pin 2 and pin 4 IC RT8239?

Re: Asus K55vd motherboard dead no Leds

this is the right repair guide for this model that could be help to make measurement on many important points. but still not really help to understanding to BV.

you can follow the power sequence to analize where voltage or signal has stopped.

Here PS for asus x450cc there are bit different for K55VD.

                  1.+AC_BAT_SYS
                  2.AC_IN_OC#
                  3.+5VAO /+5VA
                  4.+3VAO /+3VA
                  5.+3VA_EC
                  6.EC_RST
                  7.5VSUS_ON
                  8.5VSUS
                  9.12VSUS
                  10.PWR_SW# POWERBUTTON
                  11.PM_PWRBTN#
                  12.3VSUS_ON
                  13.+3VO AND +5VO
                  14.3VSUS_PWRGD
                  15.RSMRST#

Don't forget to make sure PL8100 and PL8101 have no short on those both coils

Great I will check it out tomorrow. Many thanks for your help.

BTW pl8100 is ready 1.7 ohm when I remove solder from pjp8102 i side +3vsuso = 52k ohm and other side +3vsus = 1.7ohm so something must be wrong on that line.

Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 won't run on battery after motherboard replacement
                      by dhenion
I'm working on my sister's laptop: Asus VivoBook F510UA-AH51 - The motherboard died so I replaced it.

                      The original board was:
                      ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 A

                      The replacement board is:
                      ASUS X510UNR REV 3.0 B (identical except B vs A - I couldn't find an A board anywhere. Visually they are identical.)

It boots right up on the replaced motherboard and everything works fine on the new motherboard - but it won't run off battery. When I disconnect the charger it immediately dies. When I plug it back in and reboot the system - it still shows the battery at...

                      ASUS P5GC-MX motherboard recap
                      by momaka
Here’s another motherboard that needed a full recap: an ASUS P5GC-MX.
This one was gifted to me some years ago by user Pentium 4, along with a few other goodies. It actually came in working order with no bulging or leaking caps. However, I noted there were United Chemicon KZG caps everywhere on the motherboard. The CPU VRM output (CPU V_core) was the only exception: it had only 2x KZG. The rest was 6x UCC TMV 4V 680 uF caps… which aren’t any good news either.

So here is what the motherboard looked like with its original caps:

                      CPU VRM area up close…...

Dead ASUS ROG STRIX X299-E Gaming Motherboard
                      by SavaBogdan
Hello. I am having some trouble with a X299 motherboard. I did some searches and I found very little info about these X299 chipset motherboards. It's a bit strange because they are known to be unreliable and I expected to find lots of posts. So I decided to make a thread and ask the experts for help
Ok, here is the info I have.
The board is completely dead, nothing happens when I try to start it up.
I stripped it down and started measuring. I have 3.3v on the power on switch pin, so that is ok. I also found 1v on a coil near the sata ports and 3.3v on the coil next to the...

ASUS Zephyrus GA401I Severe Lag, Suspect Motherboard/Power Issue - Need Help Diagnosing
                      by MakNCheese
                      Hi everyone,

I'm having a serious issue with my ASUS Zephyrus GA401I (4 years old, worked perfectly until recently). The system is lagging heavily, even in the BIOS, and is charging extremely slowly (a few percent in hours), making it nearly unusable. I suspect a motherboard or power delivery issue.

                      Symptoms:
                      • Severe lag across the system, including BIOS navigation.
                      • Slow boot times and unresponsive performance in Windows.
                      • Battery charges very slowly (e.g., ~5% in 2–3 hours).
                      • No error messages or BSODs, just extreme sluggishness.

                      What I've Tried:
                      • Replaced

                      by araxnido
Dear friends, I want to share my experience repairing an ASUS TUF FX506L gaming laptop motherboard: DABKXDMB8E0_F_BKXD. Boardview and schematic are available, as well as the BIOS and ITE ROM.

When the customer brought in this laptop, it was initially dead; it showed no signs of booting for any reason. After hours of measurements, checking each stage, MOSFET, and seeing if there was a short circuit in any capacitor, I discovered a strange 0.7V leakage voltage on the 3V_S5 rail, particularly on the PL9 coil, with the board not powered on. There were 3V_LDO and 5V_LDO voltages, which...
