Dell 3521 unusually short to ground

This is a common fault in this laptop due to i got 3 laps with same issue . once dc jack connect laptop gets power. 3v and 5v are ok. once i press the power button power light on and stay as same .nothing happen

when i check 3v and 5v rail short to ground but it will disapir after 5 minits or when i connect some caps to ground in the same rail

even its short i can connect my dc power supply no short to be shown even i can press the power button that time also power light stay on

then i noticed some voltage is remaining in that rail and reducing little by little same like discharging fault

flowing things done but still the same manner

    flash bios ec main
    changed io and reprogrammed
    changed 3v 5v regulator
    changed pch as well

    but no changed at all

please help me to sort it out this matter

could be bad mosfets and solid caps on 3v/5v regulator. the symptom appear if the board have age more than 3 years. this case due your DMM using battery 9v. if you measure resistance on some rails (i.e 19v vs gnd) look like you've charge the caps, but I'm not pretty sure, but you can try it than doing hard work on PCH

450watt power supply 5v, 3.3v short to ground wire,in output rail ,connectors
                  by playit
hello everyone , working zebronics power suply 450 watts , 5v ,3.3v givin short to ground black wire, also in circuit at output, resistor was charred but shows right values , after removing resistors 39ohms, 51 ohms, there was no short , no continuity beeps with ground , but after replacing new resistors (now i am not switching it on) ,again short still exists . when i put bigger ohm resistor like 100k ohm , no short beeping sound comes , lower ohm resistor gives continuity beeps ,other big ones donest , as its a working psu , i am confused what to remove now or how to go further now .

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                  by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

DELL Nvidia GTX 750Ti Mosfet goes short after a few minutes
                  by aaronkatrini
                  Hi all,

I have recently picked up this Dell OEM Nvidia GTX 750Ti 2GB Video card. Its an old card I know but still wanted to get it working if possible. The problem is the following:

                  - Put the card in my testing motherboard and start running Heaven benchmark
                  - Benchmarks seems to run smoothly up until half way then the motherboard completely shuts off immediately
                  - Try to start it again and I get a slight move from the PSU fan - a clear short
                  - A little troubleshooting later I find one shorted Mosfet - Replace them both - short is gone
                  - Put the...

                  by MisterAIL
                  Hello everyone,

Firstly sorry for my english, french guy inside.

                  I brought a macbook pro A1708 - 820-00840 logic board, wasn't powering on.
History is a day, nothing happened when opening the laptop.

Nothing special inside, no corrosion, no liquid damage, never opened.

First, with the logicboard alone on the desk, mesures are :
5v017 and 0.000 amp. nothing else.
Finding a short on the PP3V3_G3H_VR, but not on the PP3V3_G3H (0.540 on diode mode), PPDCIN_G3H_CHGR_R present (5,1 volts) PPVIN_G3H_P3V3G3H around 4.1 volts. PM_EN_P3V3_G3H...
