Dell Inspiron 1545 no lights no power

    Hello all,
I have a isnpiron 1545 which seems to get power but it doesn't do anything when I pres the on button.
I checked the dc jack and I used bench power supply to give 19,5 V.
    I have 19V on U47 and in U7 in pin 2 I have also 19V
Where should I check if I have output voltage from U7?

U7 pin2 seems to be wrong.
The maximum voltage could be 6V according to the datasheet.
This could be problem at voltage divider [shorted R52] or faulty U7.
Try to remove R52 and measure again voltage at U7 pin2.

Sorry , this was my mistake , I mistype the pin
        In U7 pin22 I have 19 V
        in U7 pin2 I have 2,34V
Can you tell me what pin is the output voltage to check in U7 ?

          U7 pin 3 should be around 4,1 V and pin 2 around 2 V.
          At U47 pin 1 you get 19V?
If yes don't bother measuring U7.

            Yes U47 pin 1 has 19V.
So the problem is not in U7.
What else can I check, how should I continue?

Now you should check L13 for 3V and L15 for 5V.
You should see both of them.

Dell inspiron 3168 (Board no=15299-2) no power with battery and charger. No charging.

But after removing battery, worked perfectly.

next day again no power. Then check 19v section.section ok.mosfet driving perfectly.

But 3v LDO was not generated. Then i checked the enable signal of the ic.It is perfect according to datasheet. Then i checked the impedence. It is perfect(444).So i replaced the 3v ic.Then worked.

Again next day, same issue.then i decided to disconnect the ldo line by cutting the path. After that LDO generated well. Then again connecting...

                Hi all,

I've had trouble with the power on this device since I got it. It always shut down with no warning and would often fail to power up. Dell's advice has been to disconnect the power and battery, wait, then reconnect and boot. Letting the battery run down completely also helped. I had them come out at one point and they said they replaced the board. This helped for a while but then it just stopped powering on. At this point it's well out of warranty. I missed the chance to get them to come out again because life. Current situation is it shows zero signs of life with both barrel...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                by PantherDave
                Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. ๐Ÿ˜…

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Dell Optiplex 7490 AIO - red power led after flash

                Hi guys,

This is my first post! ๐Ÿš€
I have no idea what Iโ€™m doing, but Iโ€™m learning by trial and error.

Iโ€™m currently working on a Dell Optiplex AIO 7490โ€”one of a bunch of AIOs that mysteriously failed to POST just a few days after the warranty expired. The original issue was that the PC worked fine until it was rebooted, after which it got stuck on a black screen (no backlight), with fans spinning at normal speed and a solid white power LED. Forcing it off by holding the power button would just cause it to switch on automatically and get stuck again on...
