Toshiba Sattelite L750D with Backspace weird issue

    Hi Everyone,

I had a Toshiba Satellite L750D with a weird keyboard issue. This issue only happening with 1 key.

When the computer are in Windows, we hit Backspace, it's erase one letter and the cursor his skipping all letters (It's like we hit the Home button, in every backspace key is hit).

I try 2 differents Keyboard, also reinstall Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 and samething. Also try an USB external keyboard, and works like a charm, but we need internal keyboard.

When i was in DOS mode, backspace are working great.... It's only in Windows.

No Idea why this problem his happening.

Does anyone has experienced this issue before or having a solution?

    Thanks.

that is a windows issue. try to fresh install or restore windows at early time it works. if the issue not gone. check EC/IO/KBC.

EC/IO/KBC is the IC used for keyboard control amongst other things.

What happens if you try booting the laptop from a Linux Live disc ? Does the issue still happen ?

I don't try Live Linux Booting CD, but on MS DOS everything is working fine. Samething with Windows installation process.

In Windows itself, in the searching area box, it's working fine.

          This is stranged.

Re: Toshiba Sattelite L750D with Backspace weird issue

            Question:

            Update: It's a Toshiba L755D;

The problem is also happening when pressing 'Enter' the system write a letter "à" and made the enter.

It's look like some keys are doing double fonctions (Backspace+home); and also (Enter+à).

I upgraded the bios to the latest 2.00.

What can cause theses weird issue? Also test 3 differents keyboards (original one which some keys are missing, 2 new purchased on ebay).

I've finnaly tested 2 live Linus + 1 installed, and it does the same.

              What can be the issue?

It's only 3 keys this problem happen "Backspace, Enter and \ between theses 2 keys".

Not that I know but, sounds like some type of coding problem?

This one's a weird one, and still unsolved despite it having gone back to Dell once.

                  Specs

i7-8750H, GTX 1060 Max Q, 500GB SSD & Seagate 7mm 1TB HDD. 17.3 IPS screen. This has the fingerprint reader in the power button.

                  Backstory

I bought this from eBay, from a wallpapering shop. £650 in 2020 which was a good price considering it's a gaming laptop. Physically it's in perfect shape, apart from the hinge mounts on the palmrest failing in the time I've had it (I have a new palmrest for it). The usual thin plastic crap modern build quality!...

                  by retrorepair2
                  Hi all,

I've got the above tv and it's displaying the strangest issue I think I've seen (see attached).

The TVs backlight does what I'd expect, you can hear the menu when it boots up, but the display is the same garbled mess regardless what it's doing.

Does anyone have any ideas where to start? My gut says main board but maybe tcon?

More often than not, the blocks have straight edges and the pattern you see on the picture that overlays the white and green moves out from the middle up and down. I can upload a video if it helps...

                  A1466 820-00165 weird issue..
                  by cruiser_
                  really weird case of 820-00165.

came not starting at all (not even a quarter spin).

board on the bench, no battery. 11+1 signals/voltages all good but PM_BATLOW_L. No pulsing on PM_SLP_S5/S4_L.

With battery connected - a change in behavior! I am getting pulses up to S0 rails, short not evident on the rails I observed (looked at fall of the signal on mini scope). Pulsing every circa 5 seconds. No funny business on AMON/BMON isense.

Found corrosion around SPI ROM. Broken traces fixed / resistors replaced.

                  Now for the funny part....
