    Hp dv5-1010ef No Power

Got this Laptop with No Power and no Lights !
Flashed Bios (take it from hp site) and i was able to turn it on, but it turns on without any usb activity, display or other.
Made a light reflow, no change, changed ram, still no change, flashed with bios found on this site, same result.
    Changed Cpu, no change.
I get the caps lock and num lock flashing 3 times, with all leds turned on, that's all.
    Any ideas ?

    Thanks

Ok, i've found te problem, this cpu requires 800mhz ram, not less !
If i flashed the wrong Bios, can the pc boot and act wierd, or will not boot at all ?
For this model, there are 2 bios files on HP website (executable program), but it's not marked witch is for this model.

check for rev: number under the battery (it is close to pcid number) . Bios you should program must correspond this number

Previos owner must have removed te sticker, PCID is also missing !
Anyway, if the flashed bios is wrong one, would this make the pc act wierd or not ?
        Thanks

This machine is driving me crazy, I've tried 5 different bios and still can't install Windows !
Tried different windows versions, I get a BSOD or this :

Never had a problem like this before, this means that there is a hardware fault somewhere ?
          Thanks

                      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                      by PantherDave
                      Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Alienware Aurora R15 accidentally flashed with XPS 8960 BIOS
                      by drux
                      Hi,
I've had an ssd that was previously used on dell xps 8960 and then it was installed in Alienware Aurora R15(intel version). On first windows boot in R15 windows started bios update and loaded bios for xps 8960(r15 and xps8960 essentially have same motherboards).

Now it has xps 8960 bios that looks different from alienware bios and when I'm trying to run bios update files for R15, I get unsupported platform error.

                      These models have AMI/Aptio BIOS.

Tried to edit product info with DMI Edit to change values back to Alienware R15, but it does not want...

After flashing bios, no power, nothing comes on ASUS K56CB
                      by cyrgh
                      Hi
LAPTOP model: ASUS K56CB (i7-3537u cpu)

BIOS POST took a long time, more than 30 seconds, it was never like this before. I decided to flash the bios using AFUDOS.exe.
I downloaded the original BIOS file from Asus site ver205. I used RUFUS to create a boot-able USB flash having this command in AUTOEXEC.BAT:
                      AFUDOS.exe BIOS.ROM /GAN

It read the bios then gave the warning about writing to bios may ruin it. I confirmed and as soon as I pressed the enter key the power went out and it doesn't power on anymore. Even the battery power light does not turn...
