ASUS X502C charging, but won't power on

Ok, so I have this laptop which charges ok, but has stopped powering on. This has happened before, and removing the motherboard and puting it back has worked in the past, but this time it's not working.

When it does work, you can reboot/restart/power off/on etc, but if it's left off a while, or goes into sleep, it just stops turning on again.

Im not sure what's going on, I hope someone can help.

Bios failing or low bios battery.
Just cook it! It's already broken.

Hi dj_ricoh, funny you should say that. As the last time this happened, removing and reinserting the cmos seemed to do the trick, although it didn't work today.

I checked the voltage on the battery and it reads 2.99. Should I replace it anyway? If I manage to get it to boot again, I'll update the bios.

Ok, I replaced the BIOS battery, but still won't turn on. Would replacing the BIOS chip be the next step?

I can only find a replacement chip for X502CA, are these the same?

I hope you wrote a new bios on that chip.
Its useless if you just take it from another board and place it on yours.

          Rewrite it.

Ok power button must have 3.3v and must drop when you trigger it.

Sorry, I meant I replaced the bios battery, not the chip. Though, I intend on buying a pre-programmed chip to replace, as I don't have a programmer.

I just checked the voltage, 3.3v at the power swtich, which drops to 0 when power is pressed.

Soldered a new bios chip, which was pre-programmed, but still the same problem.

ASUS X54H laptop thinks it's always charging even with charger unplugged
                by flat-earther
The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will...

                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

HP Probook 470 G4 - Power and Charging Problem
                by Scoff
Looking for some help with this one if anybody can assist please? I have an HP Probook 470 G4 Laptop which recently started to intermittently failing to turn on, with intermittent white LED light(charging LED) by the charging port when it should have been charging and showing an orange LED instead. Definitely some sort of gradual failure. Now the laptop fails to power on at all, no charging LED, no Power Button LED either - seemingly dead.
Stripped down to the bare motherboard. The original HP battery, when disconnected from the motherboard, is reading 0.00v - possibly some sort of protection...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                by PantherDave
                Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

ASUS TUF X570-PLUS doesn't power on: no VRM_EN signal.
                by ShadowAi
Hello, I have an issue with the motherboard. Specifically, it doesn't power on, more precisely, the POST initialization doesn't occur.

Let me start from the beginning, the motherboard suddenly stopped working one day. There are no beep signals from the speaker, and the debug LEDs are not lighting up. After inspecting it under a microscope and using thermal imaging, I didn't find anything that could be damaged.

After that, I began voltage measurements, in which I noticed the absence of VDDQ, VDDP, VTT, and VPP lines. Later, I checked if there is an EN state on these lines,...
