Hp 9494nr laptop wont POST, power by itself without pressing power button

    Hi guys,

Here I have an HP HDX 9494nr Laptop made by Inventec that won't POST with all HDD/RAM out. I have found schematic attached.

With battery out, I plug in AC adapter, the laptop turns on by itself(fans and lights) without ever pushing the power button.

There is no picture on LCD display. Laptop turns off by itself after a few seconds. Sometimes it turns itself back on for a few seconds, then off again, in a loop.

It does all this with never touching the power button, just plugging in AC adapter. I try to hold the power button to turn off the laptop, but no response, need to remove AC adapter to turn off.

Does this behavior sound like short to ground problem? Power switch broken? Charging circuit?

Has anyone had this experience before and can give advice?

I Appreciate any help or ideas very much.

Plug in AC adapter switch on is often a bios setting, not a problem, That is seperate from your other problems.

try to clean or general cleaning. all need to dismantle . check the power the switch also.... may be short or check the mobo (Main Board) if they have corrosion.
