    Sony PCG-81312M no power.

    Hello all,
    I have a sony vaio pcg-81312M
    product name: vpcf22m1e
    Motherboard type : v081_MP_MB
    Rev 1.1
    MBX-243
My problem is that the laptop doesnt power on at all. I couldn't find schematics except from a thread in forum
    HTML Code:
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=482456
    which is for MBX-215.
I measure dc from power adaptor which is ok and in PF1 but after PF1 I don't know how to continue because the schamtics are no exactly the same.
I suppose it continues from the other side (I will attach closeup picture ) which all mosfet PQ1 and PQ2 have no voltage (I measure them with diode and they are ok) and all the components near them dont have voltage at all.
Can someone provide me some schematics or has any idea what to check.

Somehow the power restored to mosfets and in PU3 (or PU1 it doesn't show very well) BQ24753A and I have the voltages in the attached image.
The laptop still doesnt power on.

It is difficult to work without schematic, but have you measure the current on the BIOS chip, otherwise you can reflash the BIOS chip and see what that does.

If the problem was in bios I think that the laptop would start but it wont POST.

I already measure this chip and I have the results in my last post.

The voltage to the power controller I think it's ok . What can I check after that ? northbridge chip ? and what voltages

                    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
                    by PantherDave
                    Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on
                    by PopsCaps
I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                    by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
