K50IJ , have backlight but there is no image on it .

Well i have this one on the bench , and have been cheking it and making my possible to make it working .

it turn on a turn on backlight but there is no image on internal or externa, its the UMA version , only with the GL40 NB , tryed different screen and lvds conector , replaced rams , reballed the northbridge same effect, leaving it with only the memory soldered on board the same issue , reflashed bios all good .

measured the lvds connector

pins 1 2 and 3 - 3.3volts
pins 25 26 27 and 28 - got 19 volts
pins 29 and 30 - 3.3 volts

so cheking schematic all voltages are present ,

since backlight turns on i automatically assumed its not a onboard rams problems as well . only thinking in replacing NB , what are your opinions about .

When to reball and when to replace? Is there any way to tell other than doing a reball first.

when u have short on capacitors and coils to nb u MUST replace it. when no short just not work u can do reball

i have the same problem , light but no image, i dont have short capacitors in NB ,

well , you can reball the chip , angel_boy is you do not find any caps in short.
