Macbook pro i5 2020 GPU stuck at 300 Mhz and very slow

    Hi everyone,

My MacBook Pro i5 2020 820-01987-06 laptop is extremely slow. The GPU is constantly stuck at 300 MHz — it doesn’t increase or decrease. On the motherboard only one of the two voltage regulators is producing voltage, and it had been tampered with. I replaced the voltage regulators, but the situation remains the same.

Whenever I try to read temperatures with HWMonitor, the laptop freezes for a solid 30 seconds, the cursors still works tho. TG Pro causes a proper hang, and it kicks me back to the login screen, even though I’m still technically logged in.

The entire CPU package heats up quite a bit, while the screen freezes up. I’ve checked SMC sensors, and there’s no abnormal temperature reading — otherwise, I assume the fans would be spinning like crazy, but they respond accordingly to the temperature changes.

Has anyone experienced something like this or have any ideas on what could be going wrong?

Assuming that SMC_PROCHOT_L is a logic '0' (low)?

Macbook Air 2015 Booting Very Slow and Stuck on apple Logo 99%

Hi guys i have my personal MacBook Pro 2015 820-00165 board that was working fine for more than a year and one day stopped working on my original Magsafe charger. It was turning on with my bench power supply. Opened it up and while diagnosing that somehow i ended up with a shorted smc.The line which was shorted was SMC_PM_G2_EN. I removed the SMC and short was gone. So all I had was another working donor board 820-3435 which i used to program it's SMC to 820-00165 using the SMCTOOL By MuertoGB.Took that SMC and use it on my 820-00165 board .And my board started working again. PPBUS_G3H 8.56V....

      Macbook pro 13'' A2338 late 2020 stuck at 5V
      by mariusm28
      Hi,

      I bought a waterdamaged macbook pro A2338 , late 2020 EMC 3578, its stuck at 5V 0,06mA.
The 3V8 (U5700) chip is shorted out, atleast the PPBUS_VMAIN_VIN_ISNS Cap is and a bunch of resistors. It also seems that a resistor is missing. Does anyone have a boardview to tell me wich resistor goes where arround the U5700?

And for the macbook to boot it requiers 20V am I right? Wich chip tells the charger that it is a Macbook and not a phone?

      Thank you so much!...

MacBook Pro M1 A2338 256/16 820-2020 Turns On but No Charge, stuck 5V

      Hello all,

I bought this MacBook brand new at launch. I have taken care of it since new and it suddenly failed on me recently.. it began to refuse to charge.

I first checked all the basic things before opening it, to no avail.

I have now opened it and taken the logic board out. I did a visual inspection and found no visible liquid damage or corrosion, or exploded caps, burnt components, etc. Cleaned the usb c connectors.

Here are my measurements thus far:

      PBBUS_AON: 12V

      PP5V_S2: 5.3V

      PP3v8_AON:...

      MacBook Pro 13 inch A2238 M2 stuck on 5V
      by Bmet
      Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch A2238 M2 and it was stuck 5V with 0 amps. I measured some important lines and I found a short on PP3V8_AON_MPMU_ISNS_VIN, I tried injecting 1v and I saw heat coming from the mPMU so I removed the pmu thinking that was the problem. I don't know why I didn't check the other side of the border but there it was, a shorted cap. I replaced the cap and the short was gone, so I reballed the PMU and put it on again but voltage was still stuck at 5V and the current was fluctuating between 0 and 0.45 amps. I checked under the thermal camera and I saw the mPM...

      Macbook Pro A2289 EMC 3456, MLB 820-1987-A, broken U6903, stuck at 5v
      by modtool
      Dear friends,
a close friend of mine gave me this machine, she told me that the last days the fan was going high and that it was heating up too much for the usual things, and that suddenly one morning it didn't start anymore .
I opened it and inspected carefully with a high magnifying lens, found no oxydized spots but a short on PPBUS_G3H , then a blown U6903.
      I changed U6903 with a new one, PPBUS_G3H became 558 (measuring with red probe to gnd , and black on F7000) , PP3V3_G3H_RTC 463.
Now when I plug the usbc cable (original Apple 61W power supply), nothing starts automatically,...
