Need help diagnosing the NM-D471 REV 2.0 motherboard for a LENOVO laptop.

    Hello,
I need your help with an issue I'm encountering while diagnosing a NM-D471 REV 2.0 motherboard from a Lenovo laptop. The laptop won’t power on. I started by checking the power rails, including the main power line and the 3.3V and 5V rails.

I do have a proper 3.3V across the line, including at the chip responsible for managing 3.3V/5V—same goes for the 5V rail. I haven’t tried to simulate a power-on yet, since the main issue still needs to be resolved.

I have full access to the boardview, but I’m not sure what to check next to isolate the problem.
However, I believe I’ve detected a short circuit on the PWR_CPU_PWR decoupling line, particularly starting from capacitor PC1026 (which appears to be a polarized capacitor, please correct me if I’m wrong). The two other nearby capacitors on the same line also seem to be shorted.

I have already removed those components from the board, but the short circuit still remains.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this, or suggestions on how to trace the faulty component?

how do you know those line is shorted ? because have low resistance ? how much resistance you get there ?

Starting from the polarized capacitor PC1026, in continuity mode I get a beep on each pad as well as on all components along the line.
In resistance mode, I measure 0.23 ohms across capacitor PC1026.

so, you already measure other voltage that missing from the board right ?
You have short on 19v line or no ? if no short on 19v, 5v, 3v line. I think you can measure what voltage that missing on your board before judge the cpu line shorted.

Lenovo X240 - motherboard replacement for X250, no image.
          by andrhouseolly
Friends. I beg you to help me in this situation.
Lenovo X240 with a video problem. Native Intel drivers are not installed,
after installation, a black screen. It works with the standard Microsoft driver.
Understanding that there are problems with the video core,
          I ordered a motherboard from Lenovo X250.
The laptop turns on, starts up, there is no image on the internal display.
The image is output to the external monitor.
I ordered another motherboard from Lenovo X250.
The laptop turns on, starts up, there is no image on the internal display.

For Badcaps Readers, Please note that I am hopefully going to present this same message to Lenovo to see if they have any insight to the matter as well and figured to share the entirety here for clarification. The System is out of warranty as it is but does have the option to have it extended.

Need help interpreting schematic of Lenovo B470 motherboard
          by rddube
          Hello everyone,

OK, so here is my issue.

This Lenovo B470 motherboard I am troubleshooting died and I identified it is the discrete Nvidia graphics chip that has lost it's ways!

So I removed it and now I am trying to change this motherboard to use UMA graphics, but I am having an issue interpreting the attached diagram. I have a 10K resistor in at the R2013 position and another one at the R2012. R2010 and R2011 are empty.

The motherboard starts, the fan spins but no display. It turns off by itself. I restart it and it does start but stays on...

Lenovo V15-IIL motherboard swap (in V15-IKB) shuts down when internal display is connected
          by Giggle2562
          Hello everyone,

I have a Lenovo V15-IKB that had a damaged motherboard. I replaced it with a motherboard from a Lenovo V15-IIL.

The board powers on, but it shuts down after about 10-15 seconds. This only happens when the internal display (LCD panel) is connected.

Here's what I've tried so far:
          • When the internal display is disconnected, the laptop works perfectly fine via HDMI.
          • The laptop shows an image on the internal display for a few seconds before it shuts down.
          • I tried swapping the LCD panel with a known good one.
          • I tried swapping the LCD cable

Need Clean BIOS/EC Bin File for Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e - Stuck with 0275 Error CMS

          Hello everyone,

I am attempting a repair on a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e that is currently stuck at boot with the error: "0275 error CMS" even after setup new bios battery and will not allow me to enter the BIOS/Setup.

This is a critical issue that I believe requires flashing the BIOS chip directly using a programmer (e.g., CH341A/RT809H), as standard software updates or resets are not possible.

I have opened the laptop and identified the main BIOS chip...
