Experience with PC Keyboard controller programmer - IT80x, ENE, etc.

Start getting windows based machines with blown SuperIO/KBD controller ICs. Seems like IT80 serries cant be programmed with CH341. Although there is some info for KB90xx controller here - http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/...ith_Bus_Pirate Doesnt look like NeoProgrammer supports IT8xx series

    What do you guys use?

I was looking at these options:Can't justify the cost for these though, as most IC's just need to be erased and BIOS takes care of the flashing

RT8209F is good to program ENE chips but troubles with ITE series. So not a good choice.

SVOD is the best in series though vertyanov is also very good.

If you dont require EC programming on frequent basis, then go for pre-programmed chips.

Thanks, Im mainly relying on pulled ics from spare/scrap boards. I assume i dont have other way to just erase them and let bios reflash them at startup. Not even sure if thats consistent across most recetn < 3yo models

What setup did you use RT8209 under? What issues do you experience?

ASUS ROG Strix- G513IH-HN008, G513-6050A3249301- MB-A04 (A4) damaged Embedded Controller
        by master3112
        I have an ASUS ROG Strix- G513IH-HN008, motherboard G513-6050A3249301- MB-A04 (A4)

When I received the device, the device has no function. After an investigation, I found that the PWM CONTROLLER RT6575B (U6100) is getting warm and there is a short circuit at the 3V3 output. This normally supplies 3V3 for the embedded controller IT5571E-128 (U301). When measuring and analyzing with a thermal imaging camera, I found that some components are damaged: SLG4E42553VTR (U8500), IT5571E-128 (U301), LAN RTL8111H (U450), LOGIC 74LVC1G08GW (U1900), RT6575B (U6100) All these components are on...

The right BIOS Programmer - The right software (HP Elitebook 820 G1, 840 G2) no soldering, EC, DMI, ME
        by STKR123
        Greetings badcaps community,

I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.

Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.

        I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.

These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.

        I learned that desoldering...

Dell XPS 9365 - USB-PD Controller dead - Needs programming? Experience?
        by groomit
        Dear all,
currently I have a dead Dell XPS 9365 sitting on my bench. Fault description "Used to charge sometimes. Now not charging at all". Confirmed. USB-C Charger doesn't output anything. So probably no charging protocoll was defined. Further testing by voltage injection revealed the USB-C PD IC (CYPD4125) heating up.

        So my question is:
Has anybody experience in replacing above IC? Does it need manual programming? According to the datasheet it contains an ARM CPU and internal flash. According to the laptop schematics it is connected to the EC via I2C....

Dealing with io controller using Vertyanov programmer
        by haithem
        Hello everyone ,
I have vertyanov programmer . It work fine , but i have an issue with programming io , when i use an io from an other board .
In my country , we cannot buy online new io clean .
So we use io from faulty motherboard .
After soldring the io , checked all pins are ok using microscope , the programmer cannot communicate and identify the io .
For exemple , problem with asus x540ub and this issue is common with all asus motherboard , when i try to program the io inline , using io from faulty motherboard .
Are there any trick to solve this...

        RT809H Programmer Firmware Corrupted
        by Teeheeze
This is a shot in the dark, but I was just using my RT809H programmer and it got stuck in a certain state so I power cycled it. Now, the device LED just flashes quickly and does not connect to the software. I've tried to update the BIOS of it and it fails. I went so far as to remove the ROM from the programmer itself but it's some weird chip (I believe ATMEL, but I can't find any datasheet on it) so I've been unable to read the BIN from it w/ my other programmer. Chip has ATMLHC4C56BM CN written on it (I think). I'll upload an image. I have the programmer's BIN ready to program it manually. Anyone...
