    HP DV6000 BIOS chip location

    Hi.

I have an old HP DV6000 laptop with motherboard DA0AT8MB8F0 REV:F

I'm struggling to locate the BIOS chip. Can anyone help?

    Hi

    Schematics here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...370#post512370
    Yours is Quanta AT8-AT9 https://www.badcaps.net/filedata/fetch?id=1917193

It's marked U8 on the board

Are you sure it's a bios issue? Those boards have a known issue with failing NVIDIA MCP and/or GPU

      Hi and thanks for that.

The laptop turns on but no post screen (or anything) it then switches off after about 20 seconds and then restarts again in a loop.

After some checks, I assumed it was perhaps a corrupt BIOS but even if it is, I cant reprogramme that kind of chip that you are showing, only the 8 pin type.
