You can extract and save the particular offset range or region which you want to see on HxD. Then open that region in HxD along side your dump file, copy the HEX pattern in the extracted file and then find it in your dump file, you will get the exact offset address from where it starts. Also, Extracted region will also five you the offset address.

by EbrahimSiamiHello everyone,
I need help with my Acer Aspire 5920G laptop. Its original GeForce 8600M GT graphics card failed, so I replaced it with an Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT MXM card.
**Problem:** The laptop powers on, but there is no display (black screen) on either the internal LCD or external monitor. This indicates a BIOS compatibility issue with the new graphics card.
**What I have tried so far:**
1. I have my **original stock BIOS dump (1MB .BIN file)** from my laptop, which works and allows the laptop to power on normally (but no display with 9600M...-

by WutruHi guys,
If someone would be able to provide some expertise, I'd be very grateful.
BIOS Corruption - Cause
So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC....-

by Lexsmash85Edit: apologies, I only need help with the DMI info.. I thought the ME region would need attention in order to recover from bricked state but maybe I misunderstood.
Im a novice to this experience but in short, I performed a backlash from the latest and final bios firmware BHCN45WW to BHCN26WW hoping that would solve an issue with keyboard functionality failing after an update. Ended up hanging during flash process and then system would no longer POST on reboot.
USB recovery process didn't seem to take. So today I successfully managed to get the BIOS dump from my machine...-

Powers on, no image. Fans do spin when heated up, power button long press works to shut down and then press to start unit again.
No keyboard led blinking (except just a normal 1sec ESC/F1/F4 leds right after power button press).
What I already tried:
- extracted Lenovo update. .FL2 file contains EC image that appears twice in EC dump (similar to Yoga variant described here), i replaced both. No change in behaviour
- Truncated .FL1 file from the extra header and cut down to BIOS flash size (comparing in hex editor data aligns...-

by SMDFleaJust a thread to post clean VSS2 files/dumps in.A clean VSS2 file can, in some cases, fix
the infamous **"Endpoint Security" error message.
Be aware that if you use a clean VSS2 you may need to fill in missing DMI info using HP BCU !
I`ve included some clean files/dumps,offsets and a few scripts to autopatch a few models.
The offsets and file sizes are part of the naming convention i`ve used for the extracted
files.
hoaca388 has made an excellent guide how to extract the VSS2 file and edit/clean it up by
filling everything after...-
