Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga X1 Gen 6 no charging

    Hello.
I received a yoga 6th gen ( nm-d341 ) that is not charging, tried both charging and thuderbolt ports but no charge, i don't see any physical damage on them, in fact they look like new.
When i use charged battery works great, i updated to latest bios as i saw a warning from lenovo regarding urgent update to fix charge problems and also updated ME firmware, no luck.
    What do you suggest?

    schematics and boardview: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...tic#post102868

    Thank you in advance!

I managed to get some bench time today.
The motherboard has no visible burned components neither heat indication.
            I measure 3.3v on C9718 and 5v on F43.
I check on F7 for vsys18 but nothing there too.
            What do you think?

update:tried to measure Q263 and just desolder like it was never soldered. The contacts underneath seem dirty, i'll try to clen them and resolder it.
update #2: after i solder back Q623 with fresh solder, flux and low velocity hot air i get many 3.3v and 5v voltages but still no power up with charger.
update #3: when i connected the battery i saw power and charge, all working now.

              Repair complete.
As stated on another thread the problem is on these 2 components, they get extremely hot and solder breaks.

Thanks Andreasbest for your update. The LGA packaging was just a horrible idea by someone. Can only imagine how many units of the same are tossed away from the same fault.

Sourcing them is not easy in every location and are expensive as well.

They told me that gen 2 T14x have also the same fault, we will have a lot of work the next years with these components.
                    Warranties just expired.

good to know, so i was right. keep in mind, that you might cool them with a thick thermal pad.

I thought about it too but there is no metal over them to absorb the heat.
One idea was to buy thermal glue and put a small piece of copper in top of them.
I'll try, there is no other way to cool them.

exactly, so I need to replace it with a 10 μF 25V capacitor, am I right?

I've replaced C3037, but it still doesn't boot. I can charge the batter (my smart plug reports 60W drawn) the amber light turns on when plugged in, but it just doesn't boot, no fan spinning, nothing. What can I check on the board?

                                      Have you tried RTC reset?
Remove all power sources: charger, main battery and rtc battery and hold power button for 30 secs, then connect charger and see if powers on.
