What is the smartest way ?

Laptop ACER aspire 1 a114-32 (n17q4 ) has dark screen. If I push On/Off button the laptop seems to start ( including blue led light) but no picture.
What is the best way how to identify the reason? Whether is a culprit LCD panel or LVDS cable or mainboard ?

Connect it to an external display. Does it show image correctly then ?

Light-in with a torch. If you can see a picture, then the background-light is off.

        So Many possibility!
After testing other suggestion you may try:
Checking caps lock too, does it respond when you press it?

Sorry, if there is no caps lock indicator on this laptop plug an USB keyboard with an indicator.
The caps lock LED will light ON and light OFF when you press it if laptop is POST.

If nothing happen it may not be a screen problem.

                Micro Momentary Push Switch?
                by Natob82
Great to be here! I'm a newbie here trying to find a "micro", momentary push switch to repair a Sony "clamshell" video walkman. This micro switch has long since discontinued by Sony, however I hope there are third-party switches of the same size and functionality that I might be able to source to play the same role. The purpose of this switch is to tell the video walkman that the user has activated the mechanical tape eject button, turning that physical action into an electronic signal that tells the tape transport mechanism to open so one can load or eject a video tape. I...

Help with identifying missing resistor from JVC push buttons TV3024-ZC10-01(C)
                by cheeky2
Someone previously had damaged a couple of the push buttons who has whilst pushing them in pushed off a smd resistor from a JVC 40" LED TV LT-40C550 main board MSDV3255-ZC01.
The missing resistor off the push control buttons TV3024-ZC10-01(C) pcb is R06 see the pictures.
I have tried downloading manuals for the Haier manufactured main board however they don't include the schematic for the push buttons!
So if anyone has the pcb that could measure the resistance or have a schematic diagram for it would be much appreciated.
                Thanks ...

How to read PCB symbol for 6 pin push-pull switch?
                by LearningToRepair
                Hi!

I am a bit confused how to read PCB markings for 6 pin push pull switch. I had problem with my 6 pin push-pull switch on my UT58A multimeter. It did not lock properly. So I decided to replace it. I forgot the orientation of original button. And now I need some help with understanding PCB.

I learned from google how to identify orientation of push-pull button:

But I am a bit confused which way PCB expects it. I expected that PCB would have some kind on intent marked on it. But mine has 3 marked instead. I attached the photo of it where I marked...

MSI GF65 Thin doesn't turn on, shorted on dc-in, how to find the culprit?
                by im_trying
                Hi, thanks for helping.

The motherboard is from a gaming laptop, msi gf65 thin 10ue, 16W21/11S.

For starters, it doesn't power on. I measured a "short" on the second DC-IN mosfet, right around the charging port but I don't know how to find the component that's shorting it.

I already tried checking the mosfet for internal shortage (by desoldering and measuring) but no short. The drain on the motherboard is the one that's shorted, next to the gate (that's not shorted).
The photo below shows this better than words.

                Thanks for anyone...

DPA 50S common emitter push-pull schematic
                by kehall
                Hi

I've come across a few emitter-follower/common collector push-pull power amp circuits where NPN / PNP are collector-connected to +ve and -ve respectively, but am working on a repair of a Deltec Precision Audio DPA 50S from circa 1987 where the PNP / NPN power transistors are connected the opposite way (PNP and NPN emitter to +ve and -ve respectively).

The driving circuitry is therefore a bit more complex than I'm used to seeing and it's giving me a brain-block without any schematic to look at... Does anyone have any information that could be of help please?...
