Flash Fault? oh no haha. From my understanding if something is going on with the hardware it would be noticed. I have come across faults like this with M1 MacBook Pro where if the Touch Bar is failed the revive process or restore process will fail unless you disconnect the Touch Bar.

Cross your body parts and let us hope for the best. Keep us posted on your progress. Still chasing the battery charger fault after the display has been replaced by 3rd party. Not yet convinced the fault has anything to do with the brand of the display. Almost had access to a lower cost model damaged A2681 unit that required a new display but it got sold before we could negotiate a deal.

Top Case came in, new keyboard new trackpad, even swapped out the lid sensor and calibrated it with nerd tool. Computer will not revive. Keep getting errors. Looks like I am back to square one.

Battery Holds a charge, Keyboard goes into DFU, new daughter board, new lid sensor, new keyboard, new battery, new everything minus the board and LCD. I do not know where to go from here. It will not revive. I am assuming there is a communication error that is preventing this computer from functioning. I am about to scrap this computer and deem it a no repair no fix, even though the board turned on, and battery now holds a charge etc. I cannot get pass the (!) screen now.

IMO - The endgame here is to restore U1900 with the DFU method. Could you not reflash this target U1900 with a known good image or better yet, just swap it out with a known good flash? Just a suggestion.

The device is a fun sized part to work with. The dump of this SOC may be available on this website (BIOS sub-forum).

hmm, I swapped it out and it was in DFU once I did that, tried flashing, and it got stuck. I am assuming that chip was faulty it came off a donor board. which more than likely had issues. So I guess the best way is to get that chip flashed, the old one.

The package used by Apple / Foxconn is the USON package. It is a rather tiny (at least for me and we work with down to 0201 parts for our PCB designs). Only in the last week, we now have proper tools & PCBs to R/W/E this same target device. From my last search, the supporting parts are only available on Aliexpress (China).

We ordered a few of these for experimenting:

Suggest to order spares of the same flash devices that are onboard these units as well - they are just not available in North America unless you are interested to purchase a full tape & reel of the same and even then, there is a lead time.

We ordered the spares from here:

                  https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3305...21ef1802XEuJsa

                  Part # MX25U3235F

Cross check the part against the schematics and the body sizes. As noted, the adapters & the actual flash devices are rare to source in North America. Now we have 10-20 pcs in the building for more experiments.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                    Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

                    MacBook A2681 (Board 820-02862) - UP700 Likely Shorted
                    by Dylan Jones
                    Hi all,
I'm a beginner at laptop repair. I bought a MacBook Air A2681 that doesn’t turn on, just for practice. PPBUS_AON and the other always-on voltages are present and look fine. I did some diode mode measurements and got unusual readings (compared to reference values I found online) on LC320 (44mV) and L82D0 (40mV). LC320 corresponds to the PP5V_S2 power rail, and L82D0 to PP1V25_S2.

I injected 1V (current limited to 100mA, the board consumed around 86mA) into PP1V25_S2 to see if anything would heat up, but everything seemed normal. I did the same with 5V (current limited...

Looking for 13" Macbook Pro A1278 mid 2012 820-2565-A Schematics and Board View
                    by Rezendes
Hello, I am looking for any and all files related to the mainboard for 820-2565-A (13" Macbook Pro A1278 mid 2012) schematics/board view.

I looked through forum search results and google and was unable to find a board view file, I found a pdf of all the schematics but I don't know where the parts physically are on the board as this is my first macbook board level repair attempt.

The macbook charger has a green light, the battery has been replaced and OS reports Normal status but Not charging. After cleaning a corroded capacitor it crumbled off the board. There...

A2681 M2 MacBook Air Dead Logic Board
                    by yuuki47
                    Hello...

My sister purchased an M2 MacBook Air a year and a half ago. While she was using it a week ago, it randomly shut off and no longer powers on. There are no signs of life and not even the MagSafe indicator LED lights up.

We took it to Apple and they disconnected the battery and tried a bunch of stuff before they declared the logic board "brain dead" and quoted us about £567 to replace it. Typical of them...

eBay replacements run about £367 with the Touch ID sensor included.

I did consider to probe the logic board for shorts...
