Suspecting CPU throttling due to some sensor detection failure. Is the trackpad connected? If not, do connect it and test again. There are sensors inside the trackpad.

I will check that tomorrow, although this board should present an external image at least even bare board as far as I remember..
In the meantime I tested the board with a external USB.. sadly no activity on LED indicator.. on other boards there's blink but on bad board no.

Ok here is a quick breakdown what I concluded:
I put the board in the housing to check for vcore voltage and it didn't drop to 0.6v it dropped from 1v to 0.92v.. I kept the board on inside its housing and it actually gave Apple logo after 10 minutes and stayed there..

I shut down the computer and put an obstacle on the alt "option" key to keep it pressed to see if it goes to boot select menu and it actually did.. I plugged in my USB drive and it freeze for a bit then recognized it and started booting.. this process alone took like 30 minutes..
After it booted in the first it says something about reset password (and it said there was no volume weirdly) so I restarted the whole thing and in the second attempt, of course.. I meet with old best friend of mine: "CRITICAL UPDATE"..

I thought I use my data transfer device to see if it recognizes the internal ssd.. and sadly nothing is coming up..

The SSD might be fried but most likely this is a bad T1 case; I can replace it but since my test board also got damaged by the housing before, I'm not getting into this one...

MacBook Pro 13inch 2017mid (A1706 820-00923-A) - liquid damage - USBC and Display short circuit
          by rilley
          Hello everyone,
I am new into this, sorry to post it here. I want to make this as a pet hobby project, as this mac is not urgent.

          I have (Macbook Pro 13inch 2017mid) A1706 820-00923-A

My mac had liquid damage a long time ago, the connector from J8500 is damaged on pin 46 (PP5V_S0_ALSCAM_F), I guess the LCD/display panel is in short circuit, as I saw the connector from the LCD burned as well.

And the resistor L4004 is literally burned.

From what I see from the schematics, it does not affect any other rails, only the connection to the display...

Extreme High Current & Low Voltage Short Killer ??
          by DynaxSC
          Hi Folks

I'm looking for a extreme high current short killer solution for a reasonable cost.

I have an LGA1700 motherboard (ASUS PRIME Z790-P WiFi) where I exchanged the LGA socket already 3 times, and every time after the socket exchange I get a short of power supply lines VCORE (V variable) and VCCIN_AUX (1.8V).
After taking off the socket, the shorts dissappear again.
The soldermask on the socket is already partially demaged from the heat, so I have reconstructed the soldermask by manually painting the missing soldermask parts with a very small top of a...

          A1706 short PP3V3_S5
          by madjid911
          Hi friends,

I have a macbook pro A1706 820-00923-A that won't start no signs of life, no liquid, checking the voltages I found PP3V3_S5 was shorted, I removed all the processor coils, but when I 'injects a voltage it is the processor which reacts, can you confirm to me that this is definitely coming from there please?

          I have 20V on the usb-c connector, and 13v stable on ppbus_g3h.
I saw that a track had burned out on PPVIN_2V7NAND_LB after resistor R9350
I injected voltage on L7660 pin 1 in short but only the processor reacts

          Thanks for your...

MacBook Pro 14" A2442 Short on PPBUS_AON but no short present when injecting voltage!
          by Stephen
I check PPBUS_AON and there is a short present on the line, the computer shows a short when testing for short to ground, so when I inject voltage into the line, I get 0AMPS so no short is showing up. I have replaced a blown cap on this board that exploded and tested for the short and it is now removed. Any suggestions? I tested voltage at the line when the fuses are connected and I am getting 1.2 Volts at the line.

Acer Nitro 5 LA-L181p power LED turns on by 5 secs (Short on PCH rail?)
          by Victor Moreira Silva
          Hello everyone,

I'm trying to repair my old Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-54-55T5). I've already bought a new laptop, so this is more of a learning project. For the experience, with no high expectations of success.

Well, my decice specs are the following:

          Model: Acer Nitro 5 AN517-54-55T5
          CPU: Intel Core i5-11400H
          GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
          Motherboard: GH51G LA-L181P Rev:1c

          The symptom:
When pressing the power button, the power LED lights up for about 5 seconds and then turns off. Initially, the issue was intermittent: sometimes...
