    Dell Motherboard LA-K491P no power

Dear Friends, I am working on Dell Latitude 5420 Motherboard LA-K491P Rev: 2.0(A01) ., Absolutely no power at all. I tried to find the schematics but I think it's not available. Upon observation I saw one chip ISL95860 burnt near the CPU, replaced it but still nothing. The Amp meter is totally blacked out, no display at all. When I connect the battery, at least on one of the battery terminal data lines pins there is 3.3v present. This board is using JHL8040R for each USB-C ports. Can anyone help where to start & if anyome can share the schematics, I would appreciate. Thanks in advance

Read the posts in the LA-K491P schematic request thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ed#post3507736 , the LA-K371P is similar

@SMDFlea, thanks, I have it with me, the layout & component are mostly different, I have no idea why they say that it's similar. Totally 2 different motherboards & this MB has only 1 USB-C port

Did the usb-c charger LED stop Lightning too when you plug charger in? No power at all, this is why no LED activity at all. DEAD

If any repair tips given to me, I would appreciate.

Yes mon2 you are right, TPS65994 is the PD controller on this motherboard. I got the boardview for this model but stil no Schematic, do you have the schematics to share with us.,trouble shooting will be easier. I have already shared the boardview in the schematics for LA-K491P thread.

You have boardview here, you don't need shematic for now:
                https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...-0-3-boardview

If amp metter stop working and your charger LED light off, you may have a big short somewhere, that's why I ask you these questions...
Don't forget to check if your USB-C connector are good too.

Then with the boardview you can check resistance to ground (without power) on your USB-C lines: CC1, CC2, VBUS .... then post values jere or make some conclusion.

@pc_okay., I checked all the USB-C ports & they look like new, no pins damage. I checked all the caps around TPS65994 & they are good. No Short. There is voltage of 3.3 to power on this chip. I am assuming that this chip is defective. I will replace & then inform you'll, thanks dear.

                    Hello,

this is my first post at Badcaps and in general i am new to fixing electronics. I am looking forward to learn a bit more about diagnosing and repairing :-)

What I have around is a DELL OPTIPLEX 3060 Micro (USFF), which is not powering on, even not showing any signs of life (No amber / white LED).
I got a original 65W DELL PSU / Power brick (PA-12 / 074VT4) which hopefull should be the correct one. I could get another DELL PSU with the Partnumber 0G6J41 with the same 4.9mm DC Jack connector as the one I already have, but I dont think that would help (maybe...

9th Gen Dell Optiplex Micro PC motherboard repair: Short Circuit?
                    by Geeker007
Hi All, I have a 9th Gen Dell Optiplex micro PC motherboard which doesn't power on. When I connect the motherboard with power adapter, it goes into safe mode and turns off. So from info I have gathered online, it looks like there is a short circuit on the motherboard. So can you guys help me with figuring out the issue?

I am new to electronics repair, so my queries could be naive but I am ready to learn.

So I have a multimeter and a solder with me. But I can try to get a variable voltage power supply with a thermal camera as well. From what I seen online, best way is...

Dell Latitude 5350 Ultra 7 Motherboard
                    by Julian Bailey
                    Hi

I have a Dell Latitude 5350 Ultra 7 Motherboard I am trying to repair that has a blown chip.

The chip is marked as eHOLH similar to the one I have pictured.

Any ideas what it does and what the pin outs are as 3 tracks have gone and need to find out what / where they went / did etc.

Dell PN of the motherboard is 08DCGW.

Below is the area I am trying to repair:

Does anyone have a picture of this motherboard in this area they could take and upload?

                    Cheers...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                    by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...
