There is no new CD3217. Everything is at best pulled and reballed, and at worse fake. The issue is that you don't know which board and which side of the board they come from.
Pull from same location (left side to left side and right side to right side) and reball yourself from a donor with same USB-C ports configuration and you won't have issues.
If that's not enough, instead of manually reflashing the SPI ROMs (you can try if you want), you can also pull and reball the SPI ROMs, again from the same location.

Thanks @pienov for the detailed explanation & for the SPI ROM re-programming I found this board to solder the SPI ROM on it & re-program them. Easily available on AE & better the spending $165 for that USB tool above which does the same job.

What he said, whenever we get a board that is A2251 we just use a donor board for a repair. We have a good few in stock and most of the time it's just one port sometimes two. We always use the exact port for this now. I would suggest looking at what Piernov said.

Macbook a2251 Water damage- stuck on Logo
          by Runnerboys
          Hi all,

Would appreciate your input, we have fixed a water damage motherboard for the a2251, there was mainly corrosion next to the 2 locations, but were able to clean it all

First few times- the Macbook would boot and got to login screen (didn't try to login), day after, when we tested it - it would get stuck on the logo and won't show welcome screen

What would be the best step to take from here to test? should I test Mobo components/ chip / storage? and if so- where do I start?

OR should I try to use the Apple Configurator and connect...

          by Adogabriel100

The thing is that i have a Macbook air A2337 M1 and i dont have a donnor board to get the CD3217. So i try the CD3217 from a A2141 Board and at first, whitout his eprom it does not convert 5v to 20v. then i put the original CD3217 eprom from the A2141 and then the macbook A2337 conver the 5v to 20v but still not turning on. i guess that the CD3217 is...

          MacBook Pro 13 inch A2238 M2 stuck on 5V
          by Bmet
          Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch A2238 M2 and it was stuck 5V with 0 amps. I measured some important lines and I found a short on PP3V8_AON_MPMU_ISNS_VIN, I tried injecting 1v and I saw heat coming from the mPMU so I removed the pmu thinking that was the problem. I don't know why I didn't check the other side of the border but there it was, a shorted cap. I replaced the cap and the short was gone, so I reballed the PMU and put it on again but voltage was still stuck at 5V and the current was fluctuating between 0 and 0.45 amps. I checked under the thermal camera and I saw the mPM...

MacBook A2442 not powering on – suspecting CD3217, but replacement didn’t help
          by TechSplendid
          Hi All,

I'm working on a MacBook Pro A2442 (14", 2021) that's not powering on. On two out of three USB-C ports, I get 5V and the current briefly ramps up to around 0.210A before dropping to 0.036A. On the third port (JF600), I only get 0.0045A and it stays there.

Initially, I suspected a faulty CD3217 on that port, especially since I noticed signs of previous liquid damage near the JF600 USB connector. I replaced the CD3217 with an UF400 (from an A2442 donor board from the same location). According to the supplier, this should be a compatible version, but the behavior...
