can anyone help with enabling UMA on the 9500 XPS board ( LA-J191P ) ?

in the mean time I wrote the second link to the chip, placed it and the laptop went on and showed the card.
Just like before after a reboot the error 43 came up.
I tried to heat the ram chips and the actual dGPU chiop without success - even with 2 RAM chips less it behaves the same.
Giving up on making it work, can anyone help with enabling UMA on the 9500 XPS board ( LA-J191P )?

I have never done this and been trying to understand it from the schematics, but for a beginner as I am it is hard to understand from that.
Page 15 has some info mentioning UMA and RH6907.

I cannot find that or RE301 components on the board visually and have no boardview.
    Is it a matter of replacing RE301 with a 130K resistor ?
There is a note on p15:
DVT2.1_08:EC read DGPU always high that thermal PL4 error,so it's should control by BOM optoin
    Add RH6907(UMA@) ,change RH516 to DIS@

Can anyone help me understand how that should be understood and where to find the components ?
AFAIK, the changing of the RE301 may tell the system it only has onboard GPU.
Interestingly, both motherboards I have the 43 error with show this message when doing a quick test on boot:

Thermal : The ( SKIN ) reading (128C) exceeds the thermal limit - Error code 2000-0314 Validation code 87210.

Perhaps that is what the remark refers to ?

Any help or guidance is really appreciated, thank you!

Post moved to a new troubleshooting topic as its no longer a bios request. Post a link to the boardview/schematic

aha, I wondered what happened . There is a link to the schematic here :
      https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...-9500-la-j191p

I also noticed some jumpers that can disable the power to the dGPU but I am not sure if that will work as it should.
Any help is appreciated, thank you!

I found the attached picture in the schematics that look promising on page 17.

I am looking help with the following:
        - find where the RH564, RH566 and RH5857 are on the board
        - understand what to precisely change to get UMA properly working ( resistor on/off, specific value etc )

        Thank you

          Shift
          RH565 TO RH564
          RH5857 TO RH5858
          RH567 TO RH566

Its almost impossible to locate them on mb without boardview.

Thank you! Do you have the boardview ? Or a picture that shows where they are ?

are you certain about RH567 TO RH566 ? Isn't that for the Precision model?
              I thought the table meant : H L L where L would be a resistor to ground not from 3.3 V?
I will see if I can find them on the board.

I added a picture of the motherboard where UH2 is, this is where all UH2x things are in I suppose? I also added a picture of UE3 .

Besides the above resistor change and the related question, does the note from P15 apply :
DVT2.1_08:EC read DGPU always high that thermal PL4 error,so it's should control by BOM optoin
                Add RH6907(UMA@) ,change RH516 to DIS@

I understand that a resistor needs to be added at RH6907 but what does the second part mean precisely ?
It seems needed to not have the termal trip and is part of getting an all power good it seems ( if I read correctly ).

With those changes, could the coil PL900 be removed, together with the dGPU chip ?

If anyone can point out the mentioned resistors amd also RH6907 and RH516 I would be very happy and can update on progress. I can make more pictures if needed!
                Thank you.

In the mean time I soldered off a bunch of coils like PL900/901 and the capacitor next to the GPU. Then the BIOS didn't show the dGPU with a name. The diagnostics still show what is in the attached picture ( Skin temp 128 ).
Does anyone know if the assumption that that is because of the P15 note:
DVT2.1_08:EC read DGPU always high that thermal PL4 error,so it's should control by BOM optoin
                  Add RH6907(UMA@) ,change RH516 to DIS@
                  ?

I did this after studying an i5-10300H board that has no NVIDIA chip. I couldn't find any differences in resistors in the places I expected it.
I am happy to take another look if anyone can indicate where I should look and make pictures.
Otherwise this starts to take a lot of time so I will park it until there is a reply.

So still looking for RH6907 and RH516 and instructions on how to make changes to tell EC that there is no dGPU.
                  Any help is still appreciated!
