Macbook A1502 SMC replaced. Can I use SMC A1466? Do I need SPI clean ME?

    Good evening.
I replaced SMC on Macbook A1502.
I have had SMC from A1466 only. It's the same but obviously has different program.
Is it enough to clean SPI with

    and change SN?

    Thank you.

SMC has is its own internal firmware, nothing to do with EFI. If the board actually boots up, then you can use Muerto's SMC flashing tool to reprogram the SMC for an A1502.

      Thank you.
      Very interesting.
It starts without reprogram the SMC, but backlight is missing.
I guess it's another kind of problem, Is it?

I checked the main with good working screen - it doesn't work.
          It's the SMC issue.
          Need your help.

            Hi,
            I found the problem.
It's very easy and common - water damaged inside of LVDS connector.
            Thank you!

You do need to program the SMC for the right model BTW. When using 820-3437 in 820-00165 the audio doesn't work correctly for example. Not sure what happens with a A1466 SMC in a Pro as I've not done it. But nice to know it works directly.

Yes, thanks to your link, I successfully changed the SMC firmware.
                It works correctly now.
(the fan was not working properly)
                Thank you again!
