    Macbook Air A2179 - Mobo 820-01958 stuck at 15.2V

    Hi there,

I've got this case that puzzles me and I couldn't find any similar case to explain it. Maybe you guys can help?

The computer went to black screen while being used and fan started to rev full speed. It had to be forced shut down. Since then, fires up but no display, no chime and not in DFU.

I took the board out and inspected it with microscope: no visible damage to chips, no liquid damage. I checked all coils: no short.

The board goes to 3.5V, then 5V, then gets stuck at 15.2V.

L7030, L7400 and CPU (with its cooler on) go up to 65 Celsius within 20 seconds (according to thermal cam)...

Am I looking at a dead CPU?

MacBook Air A2179 stuck logo , pls help me !

    Hey everyone,

I’ve got a MacBook Air A2179 that got some water damage through the keyboard. Now it powers on, shows the Apple logo, but just stays stuck there — no startup chime, no keyboard backlight, and no progress bar under the Apple logo.

When I try to boot into Internet Recovery (Option + Command + R), the mouse cursor is extremely slow and laggy — like when I lift my finger off the trackpad, the cursor keeps drifting slowly for a second or two.

I opened it up and found some corrosion around the LED driver IC area on the logic board. I cleaned...

MacBook Air A2179 - shorted trackpad, PPBUS_G3H stuck at 1,1v.
    by Gueric
    Hello people !

I received an A2179 with a destroyed trackpad connector (all PPBUS_G3H_TPAD_FLT pads were destroyed). PPBUS_G3H was shorted to ground. I removed the trackpad connector, cleaned the area thoroughly, removed some bits of burnt copper, and short was gone. But PPBUS was stuck at 1,1v, even tho PPDCIN_G3H measured 5.2v So I replaced the 2 ISL's MOSFETs (Q7030, Q7040) in case they got killed by the short. Nothing changed.

I then replaced the ISL, still nothing. measured all its pads, good. resistors around the chip are also good. resistance on PPBUS was good,...

MacBook Air A2179 stuck on Apple Logo

Hi all, working on a MacBook Air A2179 EMC 3302 stuck on Apple Logo. Came in dead. There was spillage on both of the USB-C Charge port connector. I replaced the cap 4.7UF 25V near the speaker connector as it was corroded. Replaced USB-C connector with a new one & now I get display. The problem is that gets stuck on the Apple logo & sometimes it even boots up into OS after a very long time & the CPU fan spins fast. Kindly any repair tips will be appreciated. Do these logic board have BIOS, so that I could do a clean up or load a new dump. Thanks in advance.
